Not sure if this has been brought up before. I've done some searching but havn't quite found it. The question is why do we not have an option for a hanger similar to the corp hanger pos module but as a personal item hanger? There are situations where you may have a pos setup in a far off remote system that pilots are working out of (or wormhole systems) where pilots wants to work and at least save their items for themselves. Giant Secure Containers really isn't a replacement for this due to their size.
I feel there should be both a corp hanger and a pilot personal hanger with the personal hanger having the same m3 side that the corp hanger has but divided out to 10 or 15 allocated space for pilots with a set amount of m3 per pilot. This would make those working in wormholes or those working in far remote systems lives alot easier.

Thing is, POSes are Corp-Owned. Everything there is Corp-Owned. And if you really want to have something personal there - how about a large container? --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

I understand that aspect. But if I have members in my corp wishing to store stuff for themselves as well, a large container doesn't have the M3. You are looking at 1 decent load off a hulk mining around 17k m3. It wouldn't make sense having literally hundreds of containers anchored all over the place.
This is the same for pilots who rats as well. It makes no sense to me to have 100 pilots in your corp devoted to a 0.0 system where the nearest player station is 8 or so jumps out to not have a hanger devoted to them.
Yes it's a corp pos...but the pilots are members of this corp and should have a better method of storing their items other than containers.

TBH I think it should perhaps be taken a step further, allow personal POS's. Just like GSC's can be launched for corp or private use, POS's and POS mods should work the same way. That said a new hanger type designed to have assigned space to individual corp members is a good idea in addition to personal POS's. Adding these two capabilities should cut down on all those 1 man alt corps. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

I could see the value in this living in a null sec system with the nearest system 4 jumps away and over 20 people compeating for space.
Really the idea isnt very hard.... modify a corp hanger or make a copy of the corp hanger where members of the corp with the nessisary rolls to modify pos's can add or remove tabs and set M3 limits to each tab. once the tab is made they can assign it so only one person can access it not including the director's and pos managers, maybe a password lock on the tab like station containers and ancorable containers.
so basicly the default could be 5 tabs, 10K m3's per tab with a max of 1million M3's. Max allowed tabs is 25 or 50 and adjustable M3 value from 5K to 500K M3's. Uses same CPU and PG as a normal corp hanger.

POS's should remain the same. They are meant for corp use only. The best you can do is PW protect it so that only people with POS "admin" roles or people with the PW can enter.
Again, these are items to be used by a collective, not individuals.
I had planned on using them to fix fleet lag but was talked out of it. -CCP Zulu |

Edited by: ROD04 on 26/07/2010 06:44:50 maybe upgrading the pos with individual player owned structure (I-POS).. idea is that when you want your own storage space added to the pos, you first would have to get permission from the ceo via thru evemail with an automatic response of allowed or deny. then this IPOS would attach to the pos like going online taking from the pos powergrid. when kind of wok once we start walking in stations it would be like your ownroom. but limited space is available of course....
