what Im looking for is the most possible bang, without turning a battleship into a glass cannon. Our fleet also uses shield spider tanking, so keep that in mind with the fitting. right now we are based out of a wormhole so I need a pretty fast blaster boat to reach the ships out at 50km as well

one thing I'm also looking at is the possibility of using the Hyperion for its extra blaster slot and greater amount of mid slots for shield tanking, its a steeper price tag but this is a pve ship anyways

There is so many things wrong with that fit I don't even know where to begin. Blaster boats are not sniper ships, they have very limited ranges. So in order to actually do damage you would need to be on top of the sleepers. In order to do this you would need a MWD, which would compleatly negate the effects of spider tanking because spider tanks only work if your in range, and shield transfer arrays have a max range of about 9km for non logistic ships. There is also the travel factor with MWD's, you would be applying less actual dps than if you used railguns due to the fact that you would need to fly around ever where. Also, if you are going to be spider tanking, why did you not fit a shield transfer array? Also, any spider tanking setup for wormholes would also fit a large energy transfer array, so why would you not fit one? Another thing wrong is that the 4th mag stabilizer won't do much. 3 is the max you should probably ever do on a PVE ship unless you have a specific need for a 4th (I've seen macharial fits with 4 and they work wonders).
Long story short, fit railguns, and get resistances out the ass. That's the only way to do wormholes. Either you haven't talked to anyone in your corp about how to fit your ship, or this a complete troll thread....

In general get a hype, better shield tank, although it depends on how much tank and other mids you need, otherwise you might prefer the extra lows on mega.
Also if you want some range on blasters you need t2 ones with null ammo and plenty of TEs/TCs. But first you need to know better what exactly it needs to do.

I dont think Hyperion is a ship you can afford to lose at your stage especially you said you're not rich?
Dont fly ship you cant fit properly, and dont fly ship you cant afford to lose (especially in WH space.......its outlaw space, right?). There's no way someone can properly fit a tier-3 battleship at 2.5million sp.

This. For god's sake listen to it.
With 2.5m SP there are not many things you can do. Flying a megathron (or any battleship for that matter) is not even close to what you should be flying right now. You can not fly it well. You can not justify using this over another ship you're better skilled for. You can not help your fleet mates in any way shape or form.
In fact, if you fly that mega in a sleeper fleet you become more of a problem than a help. You have no ISK, your corp knows this, they will be constantly put out by just trying to keep you alive while you ponce around in your 'just better than useless' battleship. And if you die, and you will, you will have lost a considerable amount of your ISK because you just shouldn't be there.
In the interest of actually being positive I suggest that if you want a share of the loot, and to actually do something helpful, you abandon your "join the fleet" idea and grab yourself a salvage boat and do the salvaging for them while your skills improve. This way you're actually helping without putting extra strain on the fleet just because you want to belong.
TL;DR - Don't fly any battleship until you have the skills to fly it or you will just be the fleet idiot/cannonfodder. Do the fleet salvaging instead and you will actually do some good while your skills improve.
Edit: spelling

I don't appreciate personal attacks thank you very much.
Feel free to have cap, DPS, tanking, manoeuvrability and fitting issues while letting the rest of your fleet down by being next to worthless. Also have fun replacing battleships repeatedly, while in a wormhole because you are woefully ill equipped to handle one.

Edited by: Liang Nuren on 26/07/2010 19:31:05 LOL - I didn't notice you were actually in a WH doing PVE. Man. Don't fly a BS - get in a salvage destroyer or a covops and do the cans. Your BS will be a liability, for sure. But if you insist, I'd fit a Domi to help with remote repair. For some reason Sleepers don't usually target remote rep drones.

Ed: Supertank Domi, I mean. Fit with RR in the highs. And you will still lose *some* logi drones. Maybe fit a painter or two if you've got some extra cap. -- Eve Forum ***** Extraordinaire On Twitter Blog

No one is being an elitist prick, they are simply giving you the best advice. at 2.5 mil SP's you don't have the SP's to fly a BS properly. Bottom line.
But don't believe us, we haven't been playing eve for years or anything. In fact go fly your BS then come back and post here how you lost it so we can laugh.
