It's also fairly visible the image was shopped on the monitor. No surprise there ofc. -SIG- Ship comparison |

Holy crap enough of the mac bashing. This is a very very high value advertising space, congrats for CCP getting Eve in a place as obscure as the Apple web store!
As for the imac, it's overpriced but by far the slickest all in one PC on the market... I don't think people who buy a PC with the parts glued to the back of the monitor really have performance (or price) as their primary concern.

the screen on the right is bigger, so playing eve is more important than riding bike

This is one of those photoshopped images of this place called "Outside" showing an activity laughingly referred to as "riding a bicycle" - whatever that is.
Of course everyone knows Outside is just a myth. There is no proof that outside has ever existed. Now get back to your internet spaceships. Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.
Thanks for the tvtropes link jerk, now nobody here will get their work done on time.
Well apparently CCP is working on something new, to be released with Incarna.
Did you get that pic from here? Real Life
anyway, Apple is stealing from CCP! Oh the humanity, call the lawyers >.>

At least they showed Minmatar ships. Though, not sure if I want to be associated with Apple.

We don't get "socket closed" errors when playing EVE on Mac OS X. We just get sudden moments of clarity where space disappears and EVE becomes one with our desktops.
(Two different ways: one via the Avril Lavigne bug, the other via the Crash-to-desktop bug)
But seriously, grats to CCP getting their game associated with Apple's best-selling desktop computer. Sadly, I couldn't find EVE Online in the "Games" section of the Mac OS X Software site.

Better than what? I have one of the i7 27" iMacs from the previous release batch, and EVE runs like a scalded rat on it. It might depend on how many accounts you want to run at once though.

Quote from Apple Quote: Start with advanced graphics
Quote: The 21.5-inch iMac offers fast graphics performance with either the ATI Radeon HD 4670 with 256MB of dedicated memory or the ATI Radeon HD 5670 with 512MB of memory. Which one is right for you?
However, for just $800 more you can have a 27" screen and a 1gb gfx that was new last year.
Well, they've certainly sold their 'best ever' iMac to me and I shall rush out forthwith to buy a iMac pc with less cpu, less gfx, less ram and less storage for $500 more than I can buy the more miserable Windows version for. Just think of all the games I wont be able to play on the Mac once I get it. Cool!
I have seen the light brothers and sisters and that light is Steve Jobs!! AMEN!! hallelujah!! (ad infinitum)

Edited by: Riffix on 28/07/2010 17:45:02 The more exposure our game gets, the better. Especially on the Mac where aside from WoW, EVE is probably one of the larger and cooler (coolest?) MMOs available for it natively. There are Caldari shots on the "Features" and "Why iMac?" pages as well. "Lead, follow, or get the #@$@#$ out of the way" |
