As many of your who play in 0.0 know the drake gangs have been people's favorite thing to do pretty much everything in, if you look on eve-kill you will also notice that drake is the most used combat ship. This is in part to the fact that it requires very low training, and in part just because it is overpowered. You can get good dps out of it, while tanking it to twice the EHP of other BCs...hence....
NERF the drake, take away 1 mid slot and it will be far more in line with the other battlecruisers in the game.
oh and give a cane another mid slot while you are at it...

Drake is good at 1v1 or similar small-scale warfare because its difficult to break one's tank in those situations.
However, anything larger and the drake is just useless. Its tank means nothing (who the hell primaries a drake?) and no, drake dosent pump good DPS. Did you watch AT8? Then you must notice that drake is only good at one thing:
Dying slowly and painfully.

You must be trolling. How about no?
You can also come back and i'm pretty sure i'll tell you that this will happen over my rotting drake wreck PSBADPUP > I was trying to salvage a minmatar wreck for 10 minutes, until he started firing at me.

Going to take a wicked guess and say...you didn't bring enough dps to kill a bait drake? Drakes need dps to kill, get over it. Its slow missile based damaged, other races can get greater or eqaul dps out just in the sheer volume of rounds/lazers you spit out. Its not even like the drake speed tanks to throw off your tracking. Hell I laugh when web'd cause its like ohhh noze my top speed is 10 instead of 12m/s now.
Lots of people have my drakes in their kb history...learn how to kill them. Drake is the only ship caldari has that doens't suck ass for pvp, let us have that one ship.
Also who are you going up against? I am out of my corps bc/hac roams for quite sometime cuase they are armor tanked nut swingers...My minny x-train for sabre/jaguar jsut starts from day 1 frigs soon :( . T2 fit cane be quite sometime since no projectile skills. NIce to see some shield tank love out there..

LOL nerf the drake.... thats funny. Drake needs a buff. Its dps is pathetic and needs to be pulled into line with the other battlecruisers. the drake is popular because noobies think that caldari is the best.......

I hope the next person you meet in RL slapps you half to death.
Just put the nerf gun down and back away slowly!
Instead of nerfing everything that rocks, try boosting everything that sucks.
Keep boosting until sombody misses, and the plannet behind their target blows up, and it's remnants scream out "NOW THATS A FREAKIN LAZER!"

The only reason to nerf any battlecruisers is because they make t1 cruisers obselete.
And that would mean nerfing them all, which is not a good thing to do.

boost T1 cruiser?
It's a tricky situation, because in an ideal world, you'd have given them a proper advantage over battlecruisers. At the moment, the only advantages cruisers have are locktime, speed and agility, and your average nano-cane is about as agile and fast as a tanked cruiser.
If you think about it, battlecruisers are always going to make normal cruisers obsolete; they have the same range and tracking, with more EHP, active tank potential and DPS, whilst their disadvantages are small compared to cruisers. The balancing factor of price is almost irrelevant due to insurance*, and the fact that the gains are so great.
To boost cruisers to the point where they are usable again would just be a balancing nightmare, whereas to nerf battlecruisers down to the level they should be at would be a horrendous change to the game. It's a tricky situation.
*especially as you can t1 fit a battlecruiser for the almost same results as t2 fitting a cruiser!

Edited by: Captain Dorja on 30/07/2010 20:15:33 Drakes are good because the Scimitar is great. The Drake has low DPS, low maneuverability, bad drone ability, and if you fit more than 1 or 2 "PvP" module the Drake's tank becomes similar in EHP to that of a shield buffered Cane or Harbinger, both of which put out more DPS, are more maneuverable, and have more drone carriage ability. Also don't forget that when the Drake tank fails the insta-pop. You can't say the same about a shield tanked Harbinger or Hurricane. Logistics make the Drake what it is, and as someone else already said, Drakes are 1 of about 3 total ships the Caldari have that are actually worth bringing in PvP (and the Drake is still not very good) so just because it's popular doesn't mean it's OP or needs nurfing.
PS @ the guy who said give the Cane +1 mid slot.
The Cane is the best BC in Eve hands down. It doesn't need a buff. Canes are as good as/better than half the HACs in Eve and they cost something like 1/3 as much, plus you can insure them making them even cheaper to lose. Cane's done need a buff.

Quote: This is in part to the fact that it requires very low training
For PVE yes. For PVP - not so much.

I suppose next you'll be saying Rifters are overpowered because they're so used. To offer a more serious explanation - many Drakes get used, not so many get used well. Factor in that it's an extremely common carebearmobile and you see the reason for the numbers.
Quote: You can get good dps out of it, while tanking it to twice the EHP of other BCs...hence....
EHP - don't exagerate, it just makes you look like even more of a tool. DPS - the other BCs match or in most cases outmatch it. Do your research.

Any remaining credibility = gone. Congrats. _________________________________

Hook, line and...? Yeah, you've got it! Sinker!
Also just a note. Common cane fits hang around 50, 60k ehp. Drake fits that go under 100k ehp are either failfits or ham fits.
