Greets all,
Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I've probably completed around 65 missions for Republic Fleet (Minmatar) but I only have 1.83 effective standing with them. I have level 3 connections, social, and negotiation. Current charisma is 7. I'm about 7 weeks in, have roughly 17mil ISK, and I'm flying cruisers. If a station has several agents, should I take missions from all 3 or focus on one? Does higher agent level contribute to faster faction gains?
Are jump clones considered a perk for advanced characters? Or should I be able to grind faction to 10.0 much faster and I'm missing something? Thanks for all the good advice on these forums.

Take missions from all the agents, you'll get a lot more standing doing three missions instead of just one.
You only need 8.00 standing for jump clones.

Also if you are just looking for jumpclone access a number of corps give free access for making a jump clone, you don't have to wait for your personal standing.

If it's just for the jumpclones, check out my free jumpclone service. You'll be able to create jumpclones at about 75% of all jumpclone facilities in empire.
With good social skills (Social V, Connections IV) it takes about 50 level 4 missions to get jumpclone grade standings (8.0+) with a corp. This can be reduced quite a bit by making sure you get storyline missions from the same corp as the one you're doing the regular missions for. In that case it might be as low as 35.

Yeah the standing is a long long haul... just use the free jump clone service posted above I've used it on several alts and it works wonderfully. Thanks again for providing it. Join the corp, install the clones exit the corp and keep the clones.
Your not missing anything, the standings don't start climbing fast till you can do the level 4 missions, and even then it takes a while.

Jumpclones (JC's) are usually used when you go PvP. You usually don't want to get podded with +5's in your head, so before a fight or risky venture into lowsec/ nulsec you leave your clone with +5's behind and jump into an empty clone or one with +3's (which aren't that expensive) and start fighting.
It's also handy if you are based in lowsec/ nulsec and don't want the hassle of scouting your way back out to empire, you just activate your high sec JC and voila, in seconds light years have gone by without a hitch.

I'm still learning about jump clones as well. If I have a clone near Rens, in an NPC station that I'm 8.0 with, but I'm currently over by Jita, does that mean I need to go to an NPC station here, that I'm 8.0 with, by Jita in order to jump over to the Rens clone?
In other words, do both stations require that I have 8.0 standing with the NPC corp?
Thanks all Learning... |

You only need the standing to create a jump clone. From then on, whatever station you jump from and to, it does not matter what standing you have.

Let me add a bit here to really clarify.
You join that guys corp for a day, and lets say you have infomorph whatever IV so you can have 4 jump clones.
You fly to Jita 4, and click on medical, and click install jump clone.
At this point you are still in your normal body, so you leave and head to Amarr. You dock at Amarr and click medical and install jump clone. You now have 2 jump clones.
Then you go to Rens and click medical and install jump clone. You now have 3 jump clones.
You then leave that guys corp.
Then you go mission in Motsu for a while. You decide you wanna jump clone to Amarr to do some missions then. In motsu you press jump clone to Amarr. When you do this, the body you were in with your +3 or +4 implants in it stays put IN MOTSU.
You appear in Amarr in your old jump clone, it is now gone. You have zero implants, so you buy some more. You can mission in Amarr for a while. After a few days you wanna go back to Motsu, so you jump clone from to Motsu. Now the implants you bought in Amarr are stuck in the jump clone you leave in Amarr, and your back in your old Motsu body with those implants.
Make sense? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CAPSLOCK, BECAUSE SOMETIMES REGULAR FONT JUST, ISN'T, GOOD ENOUGH. |

Also, unless things have changed (and I don't think anyone mentioned this) you only need 8.0 standing to get jump clones from a corporation. 10.0 would be a much longer grind for no gain.

Since most things are covered already I would like to point out that one way to raise corp standing fast is to run courier missions in low sec. Have a covops ship to haul for the missions, and an assault ship to blitz the random combat mission. If you do it right it is almost impossible to lose one of your ships.
Getting to the point of running level 3 courier missions is fast in low sec and a quick way to get the standing for perfect refine rates, I believe it is a 6.0, at NPC stations. A well fit and trained for assault ship can run most if not all level 3 missions for the random one you will receive while doing this.
Do not grind missions to 8.0 for jump clones. Use Estel's Jump clone serice. The only issue with that is that you may have to wait 24 hours to leave your corp if you have to drop roles. Other then that it is a breeze. You fly around, install your clones, and you can instantly join your old corp when you are done installing clones since you will not have any roles in his corp.

I don't think anyone said this yet but another thing to remember is never use jump clones in the same station or else the one your jumping out of gets destroyed which can be costly if you have implants in them. I'm sure you will get some sort of a warning if you did try to do this anyway. Not that I have ever tried it myself as this was something I was taught years ago ...yet I have still seen some tears shed over this happening as people tend to turn the warnings off lol. You can go to the same station that one of your clones is in, just don't jump to it while in there.

Is this universal for all jump clone locations? I.e. If I have 5 jump clones and I jump to one of them, I have to wait 24 hours until I jump again to a different clone that I have not jumped to yet?
