I am an avid watcher of shows like Farscape and Babylon 5. Love the idea of space travel and that is why i love this game. There is something that i think this game could add that would make it all the better. Biomechinoid ships. You know half alive half metal, gears, etc. Its not much of and idea so what do y'all think?

Please be more specific. Do you want existing ships with a "biological" paintjob? Do you want a new race which uses biomechanical ships? What bonuses would the living ships have? What makes them different other than the fact that they're supposedly "living"?
You have to understand that, when it comes to design, there are probably as many different opinions as there are players. It's just not practical to give everyone the ship design they want. Hell, they can't even give us the ability to color existing hulls or even apply corporate decals.

ok to be more specific on what i think that this new breed of ships should be... 1) since they are alive in a way they should have an immune system of some sort. so that could lead to having stronger defences to natrual regeneration of hull and armor. With immune system to they could have an ability to resist certain dmg but also have a weekness to thermal or explostions. 2) i would think that there should defently have a totaly radical disign that would make them look like they are alive in some way. And when they take masive damage instead of just fire coming out maybe (without getting too gross) we see some sort of skin flapping in the breeze or something like that. 3) i dont think that a new race has to come in toplay here but instead maybe make it a caldri experiment for control that got leaked out and all races have their own bio ship to combat the evil caldari plot. I can think of alot more ideas but these would be the basics that i think CCP could make with out having a masive way the game plays

We already have rogue drones.
- They're mechanical beings who think they're alive, and in fact seek to merge themselves with human bodies (there's some VERY gruesome and disturbing lore on that). - They have organic looking ships (ever seen a rogue drone battleship? Most badass design in the entire game). - They were a Gallente experiment gone out of control.
Okay, so they don't bleed when shot, but doesn't that pretty much cover all your needs? ;)

Most importantly: while the idea may be full of value, you have to remember that EVE has a solid storyline. Introducing a whole new race (and possibly an ALIEN race as well), doesn't really fit, as things stand right now.
Now, if you can make your idea work in the framework of the current storyline, then it may be worth of consideration.

Don't forget they introduced the sleepers recently as well. Who knows what else is living out there. Also we still have earth out there as well of which we were cut off due to a collapse of the wormhole.
The idea of self regenerating armor is quite nice, but then the balance discussion can start again. But once that is over we could have more T3 modules that give the feeling the OP is asking for. And I'm certainly there will be even more possibilities.
Eve got a lot of lore, but it isn't defined by borders like the lore of say Warhammer, Star Trek, and others. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

It can easily fit into the lore, lots of wicked scientists out there to make the invention. However I don't see how anyone would be able to put a capsuleer into a living ship; who would be in control then?
It could however be done as an NPC faction with bio-ships as a new rat if you ask me.
I like the idea, but I think one of the charms of EVE is how there are no weird alien species flying around; just humans messing eachother up.

Ok i might not have made this clear but THERE IS NO NEW RACE! sorry for the caps but i just wanted to state this clearly. Now coming into the fact with lore. To be honest most of the lore that i have seen has actualy come from us the gamers. Yes CCP has made their own backstory but really its us who shapes it in this game. That is one of the many reasons why i love this game is that the developers have made the game and put it in our hands. On to the drone ships... i can see how they are the ships that i have talked about but... we cant fly those. CCP does not want us to fly those. And TBH i would not want to fly those cuse they are creepy lol. The thing that bugs me is that i dont think that there are enough diversity of ships in this game. All i see are drakes and tengus. And i can see why they are bad ass ships. But, i would like to believe that in a future such as this that there would be tons of different ships out there. I know that realisticaly CCP cannot be held to that ideal but i just wanted to add an idea and hope that it gets their brains turning. And we all know that future humans would build ships that are biomechinoid. So here is idea what do YOU PPL out there think of what they shoudl add. My vote is still to give us ships that are half alive!

Actually, nope. They introduced interaction with the race, but the race itself was in the background from the beginning or almost so. Like Talocans, Takmahl and Yan Jung. And probably other smaller factions as well.
And none of them is known for using biological ships (which is quite against the human nature if I may say so... That's why it'd probably need an alien race...).
Also, one thing is introducing interaction with a non playable race, which, also, doesn't have any stations, agents, services or whatever. Another thing is introducing a fifth power in the "empire system". Well, sixth if you consider Jovians... I have no doubt it'll happen sooner or later, as an excuse to add new skills to train if not for any other reason. But I doubt it'll be a previously unknown race.

At heart, nothing wrong with the idea. In application, that would be an entire expansion on the current storyline, and IMO, would take away from the current"realism" this game has developed with it's back story. Cultures dont make broad sweeping changes like that. New Eden has been working with steel and metal for so long, ALL of their technology is based around it, and the rogue drones and Sansha prejudices in the storyline would prevent any of the four empires from experimenting in this manner. The Gallente, tree hugging as they are, would go to war with their women and children holding kitchen knives if they had to, and The Caldari would just buy whatever corp was developing it and shut it down.Neat idea, but it would take a lot to implement, and I think it would detract from the game backstory a lot. Give a man a fish, and he has one good meal. Teach a man to fish and he has a way to **** off his wife every Sunday. |

How about we capture rogue drones, then force them to fight for our own amusement? Maybe they can have different abilities and genders! How about there's a rogue drone championship, where we get badges for defeating other rogue drones?
Oh, and it can even be turn-based!

Sounds like we should plan for a Borg invasion :: biomechanical, new race that has a propensity to travel around and assimilate biological races.
We have to have the Borg, because we all know : resistance is futile!
