I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure that Assange is going to have a "heart attack" or be involved in an "air-traffic accident" etc before the decade is out.

Maybe Assange is being played. What has he done? Released lots of documents about a war in Afghanistan.. that is unwinable. The way the free (not) press has assimilated and interpreted these 'leaks' has been orderly and calm.

Well, that was very well done.
Sadly ... it's done by *******s in defense of *******s. I mean ... comparing Obama to the leader of the NSDAP? What? That's just stupid.
As to the straw man argument that confiscating their servers wouldn't get the information off the internet - of course the information would no longer be protected - but putting the people in jail who released it - would keep them from doing that again. Of course ... loss of their servers could be a real hit to their operation and a real financial penalty.
I don't actually know what the law is - but - it should be against the law to be in possession of classified information you are not authorized to have. Just as it is against the law to be in possession of child ****ography.
ANYONE in possession of Classified Information they are not authorized to have - should be put in jail. If it isn't illegal to have it - it should be.
While it may not be practical to track down every IP address that has logged into a web site and arrest the person viewing the material (though they could do that) - the owners of the web site should be arrested and imprisoned.
We live in a representative democracy. We elect a president and legislature to enforce and enact laws. If there are laws concerning the possession of classified material - they should be enforced. If the people who broke those laws live in a nation we have an extradition treaty with - they should be extradited, arrested and imprisoned.
Regardless of how anyone feels about a particular war or administration - if they don't like them - they can vote against them. If they don't like a law - they can tell their representatives to change it.
But - as long as there are laws protecting sensitive information - those laws should be enforced.
It isn't up to some web site manager or reporter to decide what should be released and what should not. It is up to the Government we elected to make those decisions. That is THEIR job. That is what we elected them to do.
Espionage is a serious business. If you spy for a foreign government and give them classified information - you can be sent to prison for a very long time. The penalties should be no less if you simply give the information to everybody.
I'm probably missing something here - or the guy running that web site would already be in jail. He certainly should be - as should anyone else who has published such material. The press is granted a lot of leeway in our society - but - they are not immune to breaking the law themselves. They may not have to reveal sources and things like that - but if they break the law - they can be imprisoned for it - and should be.
As to the comment about an "unwinnable war" ... if you have the power to do so - there are no unwinnable wars. What ends up being lacking on the part of rich, fat, lazy democracies to weak even to protect their national secrets - is that they lose the will to win. It isn't that they can't win - it's that they quit.
And - every time they quit - they encourage people to attack them.
The real leader of the NSDAP declared war on the United States - because he thought we were to weak to do anything. The Japanese attacked us because they thought we were to weak - that we'd bloody ourselves on their island fortresses - and quit. They believed that because of the pacifists that tried to keep us out of that war in the first place.
The world has lots of bad people who will take your money and **** your women and kill your children - unless you can stop them from doing it. Force is the only thing these people understand. Anyone who thinks anything else - is simply an idiot.
The US was attacked and several thousand of our citizens killed by people operating with the protection of the Taliban. The very idea that we would do anything other than crush these people - is disgusting.

Take this video for what it is: humour! because if we are going to argue om killing innocent, we can always pull in the USAs hundreds of thousands of kills on the innocent people in Iraq and afghanistan. Or is butchering the right word? Wikileaks proves that.....

The H.tler downfall videos never get old. This was very apt as well. Although I am a big Obama supporter, I don't think the guy who did this meant it as anti Obama, just Obama happens to be the president and it fits.

911 gave USA an excuse to try and consolidate their position in the middle east -> oil. But the post invasion planning was abysmal. Democracy in iraq? People need things like water, electricity first.
Everyone knows the invasion of Iraq was done for dubious reasons - WMD's where really it was about oil. But the problem is it was not made right - civilising Iraq and helping the natives.
Its how the world rolls. A superpower gets attacked like in 911 and they go beat another country up. But if your going to do that make it right by rebuilding the invaded country. This has not happened. And about 300,000 Iraqi's have died.
Though USA is at least willing to get stuck in and maintain its idea of world order that has given an overall security since WW2. Europe is riding this free ticket of security. They like to moan about USA but they would change their tune if USA pulled back to defend its own borders.

Humor?
No.
This is political. People who make these things do them for political reasons. If they don't do them for political reasons - they end up being seen by most people as political statements anyway.
You simply can not make something like this - say it's just all in fun - and be believed - except by morons.
As I said - it is very well done (The "Guide" In The Bunker stuff is spot on) - but - it is stupid. There has to be some application ... some truth to humor to make it funny. There was no truth to this. Obama is probably one of the more technologically savy people we've had as president. If this had been aimed at George Bush ... their might be some point to it. But aimed at Obama? No. It's just stupid.
Personally, I've got mixed feelings about Obama. I agreed with him on Health Care but ... he knows absolutely nothing about the military or military operations - and as such - is not qualified to be president. *shrug*
As to any innocent casualties of US actions - the US kills innocents by accident - our enemies kill them on purpose. Anyone who can't see that - and understand the difference - is a moron.
As to reading whatever it is these guys have posted ... I'm not going to do that. If it's classified information - I don't want to access it. If you do - heh, heh - don't think for a second that "they" (they being whomever might decide to do something about it) can't find out exactly who you are. As I said - it's somewhat impractical for them to be coming after you ... but they could do it ... if they wanted to.

Yes, this is humor. It's an internet meme, there have been one's with CCP, football, Fallout 3, other H!tler Downfall parodies, and then someone makes the 723th one about Obama and BAM it's political? No.

Totally agree. Anyone who takes the media's reports at face value is an idiot.

Erm, they can't find who's seen it, it's hosted on wikileak's servers. I've browsed the reports, kinda boring, really.

Oh, so comedy is no longer allowed to roam into the political spectrum?

So you think that his predecessors have been qualified as it has to do with the Middle East? I am no history major but after reading T. E. Lawrence, Aaron Aaronsohn, and the Seeds of the Arab-Israeli Conflict, I am convinced that no one has a clue about what to do with the Middle East, militarilly or otherwise.

Most of the information is nothing new. As for me and 'them' having a reason to come looking for me, I am pretty sure they have better motivators if they wanted to use them. And to shy away from available information for fear of one's own life is exactly what 'they' want. Dun Dun Dun.....
