1. Do you want the Chinese Server Integrated into the mainstream server?
2. What do you believe the changes to the economy would be?
Just about every item i own has made in China stamped on it somewhere and as most people know the Chinese have a fondness for mining bots. In my opinion the major changes would be
(i) A general lowering of the isk value of Ore/minerals/ships/all other items.
(ii) A much larger selection of purpose built characters for sale at reduced prices.
(iii) The price of Plex would increase massively.
The Chinese are not known for being overly expansionist and are more isolationist in theory so i dont believe that there would be human waves of attack ships tearing apart nullsec as they take over the galaxy but they could end up as major suppliers to the big alliances.
So my view is that there would be a massive economic shift in the game and nothing more.
Perhaps it would have been more interesting if it had been the Russians who had been kept on a seperate server for all these years and then a breach was opened so that sixty thousand of them came pouring through with nothing but conquest on their minds.
Now that would have really made this game more interesting, although the CCP servers would probably have exploded the moment it happened.
Your thoughts please

would not work,
1. who would lose the sov? people have claimed all the space on both servers, and im sure our friends in china would not want to just lose all sov, and im very sure nor would the guys on our server, and ccp cant just copy all the regions!
2.the government is china like their people to be sheltered from the evil western propaganda and would not allow it.

Wow. Ignoring thousands of years of history like that is actually kind of impressive. Well done

Not as long as it'd equal implementing Chinese style censorship into western EVE.
Breaking Chinese law does not serve employees in China well.

This, for sure.
I'm otherwise quite ok with having the Chinese server merged. There are plenty of non-anglophones with whom I've played this game, and adding another group isn't exactly going to cripple my gaming experience.

I wonder if they're having this same discussion on the Chinese forums?
Maybe it's the Chinese who don't want to play with us.

Reducing two whole nations to stereotypes, nice.
I'm sure they'd be as varied as the rest of us, but sure we'd probably see some large chinese corps, some would no doubt take up some null space as well. The common language thing is always going to be a powerful force for bringing people together. But next effect would be just be the same as increasing player numbers any other way.

- there would be even more macro accounts than before tanking the tranquility in game economy
- there would be a larger RMT blackmarket for CCP to try and shut down (read: redivert through GTC sales)
CCP only cares about one of these things. (hint: it's the second one)
--- Players are losing faith and loyalty in CCP due previous expansions not living up to player expectations. The CSM and CCP agreed that expectation management can be improved |

Should the chinese server be integrated -- yes.
Will the ' faction ' police in china allow that -- no. Pretty much end of discussion imo.
This has just about zero to do with eve and 100% to do with chinese trade policies that frown or almost prohibit money leaving the country for anything but raw materials to be reprocessed for value added. And the added bonus of a dictatorship that ****s itself at the thought of not being able to monitor it's people 24/7.
Some day in the future when the servers do get joined I'm betting we'll be more shocked by how identical we are as opposed to how different we think we might be.
50 mil on each of the following :
x < 4 min for the first reference to alcohol x < 7 min for the first bikini picture link x < 7.5 min for first nudie pic link x < 9 min for entire convo to devolve into a beer/pot/****o linkage fiesta
Double down bonus 10 min 27 sec's for the first Rick roll
hmmmmmm ya k. On second thought i think i might know why they aren't linking the servers.

On kug - gut - sumen - .com there is a pretty cool write up of the current state of the chinese server and its history.
Apparently they all use t1 as t2 is only for pve and all alliances build their own equipment and alliance members only sell to their alliance.

Personally I like the idea of having a single shard server with multiple "groups" of people who are separated by a language barrier. Right now we kinda have that with the Russians (although many/most of them speak English).
Would be pretty cool to have americans, euros, chinese, and russians as the "player factions" on TQ (although the americans and europeans aren't at odds with each other usually...)

I'd like to know if the Chinese server is plagued by American ISK farmers.
That's what I'd like to know. __________________ Follow me on Twitter

Its a container ship, carrying hundreds of containers full of plastic knicknacks and crap to Los Angeles, for future distribution to Wal-Mart and Target. Space is fun! |
