I want to express my most sincere thanks to CCP, more specifically GM Dantrok for taking the time to check in with me to see how I was liking the game. I am a very new player in EVE, and was surprised and amazed to see that a GM would take the time to communicate with a player on a personal level by answering questions and making sure I felt comfortable. I have never seen this kind of service from any company that I have ever had dealings with in any industry, and wanted to make sure that GM Dantrok received the proper recognition for going above and beyond the call of duty. I personally work in the customer service industry, and it brings a smile to my face to see that people actually care. Because of this, I am a lifelong customer.
Thanks again, and fly safe! D3athmane of eGO

I recognize it's not everyone's experience, but I've never had anything but good encounters with GM's. This does sound like exemplary customer service, however!
The only time I experienced anything like that was during the launch of Fallen Earth when GM's were almost always in "Local" and were chatting with the player-base whilst fixing things. Not sure if they still do that, but it was great PR. .

Keep that in mind when you file your first petitions and start getting the same three cookie-cutter answers* the GMs generally sh!t out each time.

Was it a GM or a STAR volunteer ? The STAR people do the new player meet and greets.

Let me just say that I've not had this positive experience with CCP before. Alltough it's possible they care more about getting fresh blood in than keeping us old Geezers around.
It's possible I'm just a low maintenance customer though So I don't really need any upkeep from any GMs.
But I do feel the GM's could've spent their time in a better way than chatting up newbies. And possibly fixed a few things us oldies are screaming about lately. Do or die I say. If they don't fix it they'll just have new customers to worry about pretty soon.

GM's can fix code now? Are they working next to the janitors and the guy who cleans the fishtank?

I wouldn't be surprised if the OP was honest btw. Once upon a time long ago, these things did happen. And lots more like it. Wouldn't be surprising if a few employees picked up the habit again, because it does have an impact on players.

It was rather clever actually, especialy the remix. Up until the point where he implys that instead of doing what GM's are supposed to do like helping noobs or solving petitions they should be fixing lag that is. Then it became yet another offtopic fleet fights are broken poast.

Edited by: SupaKudoRio on 11/08/2010 21:54:51 I'm betting you work for that PR company CCP hired. Sorry but it's not working. In fact, it's making CCP look worse! Why was a GM using his time to talk to a new player when there are almost certainly weeks-old petitions still unanswered?
Thanks for naming and shaming for us though!

lol @ lag is bad...
Well at least we now know why crap takes so long when your an older player... too busy holding the newbs hand.
To be fair though, most petitions I sent in the outcome was at least okay if not good and pretty fast (compared to expected).

All petitions I've made have been handled very professionally as well. I've been very impressed with the GMs. Of course I'm not sending petitions about crushing 0.0 lag or lag induced errors (which GMs can't do anything to fix), but my billing issues have been taken care of very promptly.
