I'm going to be a bit negative here.
So far, the storyline missions I have received have led me 14+ jumps away from the agents I was doing missions for and were exactly the same: "Kill mercenary forces blah blah ...".
I understand that CCP wants to have some special missions which result in faction gains, but this is just not the way. These storyline missions contain neither story nor are they especially important when you have to spend 30+ minutes jumping to a system, wtfpwning some poor Mercenaries and then spending 30+ more minutes returning to your regular agents.
Solution to this? Remove storyline missions till they actually introduce special missions that contain a story and just add a main faction % bonus to each mission you complete for your regular agents.

Just got my first storyline mission and the offer was prematurely withdraw before I got the message.
Fortunately I only had to remove myself 12 jumps from regular agent.

how about this
corp mates agent sends him about 15 jumps away and 11 jumps into it is a heavily and regularly gate blocked choke point controled area and still need to get thru that and 4 jumps just in past gateblock to complete mission and come back on through.
He's got 3 different pending important missions and all 3 send him thru that certain death of a system no matter when he does the mission.
and he's doing missions in empire, in .6, 11 jumps away from 0.0.
ya he is really pleased about that....... thus why he has 3 impotants piled up

Guess that answers my question: can you just ignore the importants? Please CCP, fix these missions or stow them.
I have heard the alpenhorns calling off the Shoals of Orion

I read this earlier and thought 'you poor sods'. Now here's me, running level 2 missions and I get an important mission. For a whopping 59,000 credits, I'm asked to go to 0.3 space 19 jumps from my stomping grounds near Amarr and kill some Khanids. No LPs, only a 47,000 bonus if I finish in 45 minutes. Hello? CCP? Newb doing level 2 missions sent to 0.3 space? Are you nuts? You can poke this one where the sun don't shine...

Whilst they're currently poorly implemented, lacking content and with low bonuses (should be implants IMO 'cos they crop up as rarely as old implant missions) they are the only way to increase your faction standing.
For that reason alone they need to stay in, though it would be nice if they were worked on fairly sharpish.

It gets better. Travelled 13 jumps for a Storyline mission. Was then told by the agent I could sod off. Great. 26 jumps for **** all...

I've asked this before in another thread, but just to bring it up again - Why can't we have storyline missions IN ADDITION to the old-style important missions from our regular agents?
The storyline missions could reward pilots with better items/ cash/ corp faction than the regular important missions of the same level to compensate for the distance/ difficulty factors, but would still leave us the regular important missions for decent corp faction/ implants/ sheer fun (admit it - it's usually a bit of a rush to see the text "IMPORTANT" in your mission log, even if it is just a glorified pizza delivery).
Given no-one seems happy with missions post Shiva so far as I can tell it seems CCP has dropped the ball on this one. Fair enough, no-ones perfect - But please, please give us our old important agent missions back (even after you fix the storyline missions).
Yours living in hope,
JG

Used to kill those mercenary in no time with my moa.... i clicked yes...
!then leave the station and... WHHHHHHAAAAAAAT 6 jump in 0.0 space for a mission lvl 2? well my autopilot wasn't well configured try another road mate.... 4 jump in 0.0 in Fountain guess what i wait 24h and we talk about it...
SO 24h after i recieved a mission failed... first impression 3,7% standing in faction and corporation loses... ok gonna have to wait 2 days to get it back but lemme check... going from 1.26 to 0.99 in corporation is that what they call 3,78% ??? Dude i have like for 3 week to get it back ... my faction gone from 2.90 to 2.50 and loosed my agent
Serioously i understand loosing faction i assume lossing corp but dont make me loose 0.25 when an important mission allow me to win 0.03 maximum
Yeah im caldari... and yeah im flying a megatron...
Why coz maybe now only caldary are tough enough to fly those and evryone use caldari ship...

STORYLINE, isnt that supposed to mean it carrys on?
I think the storyline missions suck, miles away from where ur based, rubbish rewards and no real gain apart from a waste of time.
AND if u dont do it u get a sec hit against that corp/faction. pointless ffs. ----------------------------------------

yep, missions are fun now... you could do them whole days (lvl3) and get less cash than after 1 hour of mining veldspar in empire;)

Edited by: Randuin MaraL on 23/12/2004 14:50:44 Why not enjoy a change in daily mission routine ... 14+ jumps, is not that much, and you get around. Oh yes, you lose money meanwhile, but ... is it really the end of the world? And ... it has been said already, that storyline missions will get more lovin' soon.
I disagree and say: Keep storyline agents, complete them and do not mix them from all and every corporations/factions. I am glad the implant rush has ended. ____________________________________________________

Almost all of the story line missions I have seem are a waste of time. Why go to dangrous 15 jumps away and in .3 below space for 50-60k? I am still fairly new and probably would not be willing to take that risk for 2mil-3mil isk let alone 50k!. I have only received 1 worth while storytime mission. It was a lvl 1 mission that involved going about 9 jumps for a +1 implant.
I they should keep level 1-3 story time missions in relatively safe space and have them offer implants or valuable equipment to make them worth while.
My 2 cents
