Originally by: Lyah Moonshade I'm going to be a bit negative here.
So far, the storyline missions I have received have led me 14+ jumps away from the agents I was doing missions for and were exactly the same: "Kill mercenary forces blah blah ...".
I understand that CCP wants to have some special missions which result in faction gains, but this is just not the way. These storyline missions contain neither story nor are they especially important when you have to spend 30+ minutes jumping to a system, wtfpwning some poor Mercenaries and then spending 30+ more minutes returning to your regular agents.
Solution to this? Remove storyline missions till they actually introduce special missions that contain a story and just add a main faction % bonus to each mission you complete for your regular agents.
/rant off
It gets better. Travelled 13 jumps for a Storyline mission. Was then told by the agent I could sod off. Great. 26 jumps for **** all...

Originally by: Taipan Stark Vothic: the "Go away I am busy" from the agent is normal, AFTER you completed the mission. In my case the agent said that when I showed up in his station to start the mission (to change it in journal from a 7 day offer to a 24-hour mission, in terms of expiration time).
Indeed, same happened to me. The storyline missions have been programmed by someone who should have been sacked. On Christmas eve.
