I was a litle surprised, usualy pirats never has the time to catch me in gate warp cloack.
Anyway, thx for all
This is how you use a cloaky ship in low sec effectively...well better than you do anyway:
1. once you jump, click warp on your object (ie: gate planet ?) 2. imediately press cloak after you press warp to gate. (dont press it like a ******...its a matter of timing when your ship uncloaks after you jump) 3. By that moment your cloak and aligned to your object.... USE A MWD. if you don't have one... FIT ONE. a mwd will save your ass if someone burns to you.
If you follow those procedures to the letter you will avoid even good gatecamps lots of times. Probably even insta lock ships since the time you decloak is faster than an insta lock ship.
Trust me, it works. we work in low sec all the time in faction warfare.

NOT TRUE. Just tested this myself. You can still cloak even if someone is trying to lock you.
Test it yourself: Get an industrial ship (which has a terrible locking speed) on Alt A. Get a cloaking ship on Alt B. Have Alt A attempt to target Alt B. It should take more than 10 seconds. Have Alt B cloak a few seconds after you started trying to lock Alt B with Alt A to compensate for potential lag. For my test, I waited a good 8 seconds. Watch in amazement when Alt B successfully cloaks, and Alt A gets an error message: "You fail at targeting nothing", or something similar.
This is why you need instant locking ships to catch cloakers, and even then it is a battle of lag and reaction times. I propose that if a cov ops cloaking ship is piloted correctly, the only thing that can kill him is lag (or a sufficiently large enough gang with a sufficiently large number of decloakers). ----------

You're too slow-minded to click the cloak fast enough. He noticed you were an idiot, so he decided to troll you. This thread requires no further posts.
