So I just had the pleasure of enjoying some really strange game mechanics. I just enjoyed getting 6 Amarr missions in a row from my Gallente mission giver. Since I am barely under kill on sight already I declined the missions. And now I can't actually get missions from the person since my standing dropped 2 whole points.
Thanks CCP.
How often does this happen for others here to get insane amounts of killing only a certain faction?

Had 3 or 4 in a row once, but I never decline a mission until the 4-hour timer is over.

Would that reduce the standing hit?

You can decline one mission every four hours without taking the standing hit. |

Do you understand what variance is? Faction killing missions always **** up standings, what's new?

I don't have a problem with the faction missions. What I have a problem with is the insane number back to back that pretty much screwed me over.
I my case it was ridiculously stupid: either I tank my standing with my mission giver or I tank my Amarr standing with Amarr. Not something I expected.
Also thank you for the info that I can drop missions every 4 hours without bombing my standing. Does this mean I have to wait 4 hours after I asked for the mission before dropping it? Or accept it and after 4 hours drop it?

Sorry Awesome Possum that I am not a hardcore gamer. I actualyl have a real life and thus play rather casual.
But thank you for your idiotic response that served nothing but your own stupidity.

So basically if I understand it correctly: it might have happened either way regardless. Except I would have kept my standing but lost almost a whole day? Not a good solution but I guess: lesson learned.

The real lesson to be learned is never pigeon hole yourself into having one agent, and that courier missions wont kill you.
Also that jump clones are your best friend, literally. they are just like you only dumber. This is clearly a signature. |

Edited by: FireT on 15/08/2010 22:47:39 Ok I just had the pleasure of taking a short break from being massively annoyed at the original missions to come back and get handed another Amarr killing mission by another agent.
REALLY?

Actually hilariously enough: no. I do need my semi peaceful Amarr standing because my corp is based out of Amarr space. And having tried running Amarr missions quickly proved that their standing rises much slower than my Gallente standing would drop.
So I am stuck doing Gallente missions where I have to selectively choose to not shoot them. Not like the game isn't making that almost impossible.

your in Gallente space just for missions?
Do you shop only at jita?
if so then start missioning for amarr.. because you can always do SOE missiosn to keep your galante standings alive..
I my self hardly ever goto galante space or minmatar space.
people harp on about how they dont wannabe cut off from half of empire and have some npc's shoot em. fact of the matter is. the average mission runner does NOT leave his chosen racial region. unless they are juggling empire missions.

Edited by: Cyniac on 16/08/2010 08:06:12 Not sure where you are running missions from but...
If you are comfortable in lowsec - you can find great mission hubs with 5 agents in a single station. Declining missions there was never a problem, as someone always had the mission I wanted!
If you are more of a highsec sort of mission runner - depending on the missions you run there are some great areas out there with 4 or more agents within a very few jumps, locating the right agents to work with makes a big difference, certain agents very seldom to never give me faction combat missions while others do this all the time not sure why - I suspect its got to do with the type of agent and the corporation, possibly even the region the agent is located in. I had a great lvl 2 Command agent who would just about only ever give me faction missions and now I found a lvl 4 Command agent that gives me a faction mission once in a blue moon. Just have to find what works - and obviously what you are doing is not working well.
As mentioned above, SoE can be a good option for mission running (and I get few faction missions from them though they do tend to go after the Amarr) and there are a few other options, you could try to work for Khanid or Amatar if you wanted to buff your standings with the Amarr without taking too much of a hit to Gallente for instance.
Finally - is it just me or don't you think it's weird that when flying for Gallente you get a lot more fight-the-Amarr faction missions than you do fight-the-Caldari faction missions?

Edited by: Ansol on 16/08/2010 17:27:27 Nothing really screwed you over. You declined 6 missions in a row, which is going to massacre your standings. It's not really the game screwing you over as you having a gross misunderstanding of game mechanics.
As far as getting lots of Amarr killing missions? Tons. I get anti-Caldari and anti-Amarr missions all the time. If you don't like it you should only do missions for one faction, or spread out several mission-agents so you can decline a mission and do other missions while you wait for the 4 hour timer.
CCP didn't do anything to you, you did it to yourself, man.
EDIT: And you are intensely rude. Just saying. Even playing casually for two years you should have a basic grasp of what you're doing. If not, do a little research. Everyone here is incredulous because most people who have been doing missions for 2 years know what the heck the decline button does. Don't be angry at us for thinking that it's magical that you screw yourself and then blatently blame CCP. Just saying.

Not to mention that the warning box tells you how long you have to wait to be able to drop the mission without standing hit.....guess he just missed that 6 times
