I run load's for profit and we are limited on cargo space so we have to go bigger and bigger as we make more isk we haul more and more untill we hit the biggest ship. How about a Tugboat style ship were we can buy special container and only be limited on are load size by the number of container. Please don't forget us 18 wheeler space truck driver

Aha! This is a concept I havent looked at in nearly a year. The idea I was working on at the time was for a ship class in the size between the Transport and Freighter. It would have a special container bay that would only accept containers, no other types of cargo. As such they were to look like their cargo sections were made up of containers strapped on.
The main class from this idea was supposed to carry giant Secure containers. I was also trying to come up with something that could move a single General Freight Container and possibly pick up ones floating in space similar to your Tug idea.
Anyways, I really like your tug idea I hope it goes somewhere.

Lawlz, i can see someone tugging along with cans behind them from gate to gate. It's actually not a bad idea, and would help out those who wish to have a hauler with a decent cargo space with out paying a arm and a leg for it. Sure the regular haulers do work, but as OP has mentioned sometimes you need something bigger, course i would say the Orca. It works quite well as a mini-freighter. Just my two cents here. ---------------------- Knowledge is power Power is Knowledge

The problem with the Orca has always been that it used a different skill tree from the freighters though. It's great if you've already trained to fly a Hulk but useless if you're training your way towards Freighters.

It could be balanced if it had a larger total cargo space than a freighter, but made out of small sections, so you could not fit one big thing in its cargo. Since a cheaper, bigger, faster, less skill hungry ship than a freighter obviously not going to be implemented.

Edited by: IskyBusiness on 19/08/2010 07:50:50 Just some thoughts as I like this idea.
Skill allows 2 more "trailers" per level so max of 10. The longer your Horse and trailer gets the slower you move and your align time gets longer, ie. you have to string out all the trailers in a long straight line behind you before you can warp, if trailers are all bendy bendy then no warp. Trailers have to be undocked individually from station requiring you to leave them outside station before going back in to collect the next one. This will allow people to hi-jack your shipment Trailers and tug can be targetted individually. Tug can drop his load align and warp away quickly in event of emergency.
