Hi everybody
I want to visit several different systems to pick up stuff I bought, some of them 7, 8, 9 jumps away. What is the most efficient way to make the rounds? Is that what setting waypoints does, allows you to make your own path instead of the automatic path you're given when you hit "set destination"? I don't want to waste time backtracking and wandering all over the universe, it's going to take a long time already to get the stuff. Short question maybe is, How do the professionals do it? Thank you!

I've never used it, but isn't there an 'optimize route' button on the F10 map screen after you set all your waypoints?

Adding a way point adds that system to a list of systems you wish to visit. The order of way points is the order which you add them. Set destination adds a way point to the end of the list. If the system is already in the list adding it as a way point or setting destination moves it to the end of the list. If there is only the one system in your list there will be a complaint about trying to add it twice. You can modify the order of the list from the autopilot tab in the map screen. There is also the option to optimize the list to use the least amount of jumps.

The most efficient way to do this is to buy as close as possible. Thus set the jumps descending so the top results will be the closest to your system.

This. Set destination to the first one of your places, then "add waypoint" to the rest of them. The go into the map > autopilot screen and hit optimize route. It might take a minute, and then you'll have the shortest route to all those places.
I used to do this when I did orders with a range of 10 jumps.. it was such a pain, but this maid it a lot faster.

It's true what they say, no matter how long you've been playing this game there's always something new to learn
