So i there i was doing some stuff in null sec.Cane jumps in,warps out,me follows. As he was in warp he log offs.I barely miss pointing him when i landed on gate. After a minute he disappears, all look ok to me. After a minute or 2 he logs back and log offs again. This time i point him before the logoffski ship warps out and i start killing him. After 60 secs his ship disappears. Now i know maybe lots of you will laugh at me and stuff.I am not an "elite" player but this thing is just broken.I know i that if i had more dps i would have gotten the guy etc but the point is to avoid beeing part of a blob anymore risking losses.. So as i think of it..there are various applications of this bug. 1)I will no longer have to check scanners for probes when i am doing lvl5s with a cap since even if i get pointed there is just noway for the oppoentes to bring enough DPS to kill me(cynos dont work in sites i think). 2)no need to pay attention to local since a simple logofski will save me if i have a good tank that can hold for 60 secs.. Please, enlighten me what are the broken mechanics i miss here?

maybe did you think its not broken and its working as intended to protect players from losing their ships to accidental disconnections?

because we all know CCP are kept awake at night worrying over players losing their hard earned ships to accidental disconnects, black screens etc right?

With that in mind, why give 15minute timer to ships that aggroed?CCP should give them 60 secs.Anyway,i dont think this will lead anywhere. Its like complaining about muddy roads on a rainy day.

Mechanic is working as intended, think of it from a reversed point of view, your warping through low/null, you lose connection/crash out and for 15 minutes (instead of 60 seconds) your ship warps to a safe spot. Now if i was chasing you at the time, in 15 minutes i could go back to a station, buy a probe launcher and combat scan you down, warp to you and pop and pod your ship. Then you'd log in and rage at CCP for being open to the world of attack because your ship didnt disappear. Yes the guy who logged off was probably exploiting the fact that you wouldn't be able to kill him in 60 seconds but at least its changed from a time when they could log off midwarp and you'd never get to catch them.
You guys make squeeky noises when you pop, and that's enough motivation as far as I'm concerned. |

Only lag i see here is in your brain...keep looking at the black screen and you might get an intelligent answer out of it in the next logofski thread. For those 2 that took the time to answer, thanks alot. As for the rest of the trolls, you should know that there is something that is called small scale PVP.I personally originate from the "blob" school and got sick of having 1000+kills doing 0,000001% dmg and that if i managed to get a lock while i have fitted 2-3 sebos. I suppose i will get used to this exploit but the 1-2 kills i manage to get sometimes per day are better gameplay than getting 100 kills from lagged out opponents.

Killing 100 enemy ships with your 1000 ship blob is no different from killing 1 enemy ship with your 10 ship blob, statistically speaking.

Maybe I don't understand what the OP said, but if you pointed him as you said you did his ship won't warp off or dissappear in 60 seconds. Once you get a scram or disrupt on someone assuming they are not warp stabbed he isnt going anywhere wether hes online or offline.
Sounds to me that this guy was warp stabbed and thats why your point did not hold him.

nope, you sir, are incorrect.
If you point a ship and the pilot logs off or gets d/c, the ship wont warp to a safespot as usual, but will stay there *until the 60 sec logoff timer expires*. If he was not pointed, the ship would warp off to a safespot 1million km away in a random direction, and then disappear after 60 secs.
Either way, that ship is disappearing after 60 secs, point or no point. The only way to stop the ship disappearing is to turn its spaceship pixels into explosion/wreck pixels before that 60 secs runs out.
Mechanic is working as designed.

Nope.Log off during warp, point as he exits warp and he is logged off.Ship just disappears 60 secs later. The funny part is that it was so easy for him to safely go around me and my corp m8,unless he cant outrun a falcon that was waiting on the other side in a shield tank cane.Irritating exploiting but the only thing you can do is get used to it.

From what I was told by one CCP member in the in-game help channel, you would warp in:
a) 60 seconds if unlocked b) 2 min if locked by NPC c) 15 min if locked by PC
Is this completely incorrect, or am I simply missing a key element?

heh,i lol'd.
"From what I was told by one CCP member in the in-game help channel, you would warp in:

Is this completely incorrect, or am I simply missing a key element?" the key element is that if you log off before you get locked and as your logged of ship gets tackled as it goes to warp it will still disapears after 60 secs. Example 1:scan ahead a gate and see that someone is there, log off =win Example 2:as you in 0 km in a belt you notice a ceptor warping in or a recon decloaking, log off before thy tackle=win Example 3:you plex with a cap and someone does the same thing as example 2,log offski=win
I have no idea about how EVE works or how hard is to change it,but one idea that could work is changing the timer:ship in warp--->log off--->ship exits warps and starts to warp out to the 1 mil km spot--->ship goes out of warp in the safespot--->shorter timer untill it disappears(15-30 secs maybe)

as far as i know log off in a pos - you hang around for 60 seconds if no aggression, 15 mins with aggression, if in space no aggression - insta warp out 60 seconds then gone, with aggression 60 seconds in place then warp to remote location until aggression drops then out. (so if you can extend aggression with hitting wrecks, they will stay for longer. Living in eve one day at a time,
