Ok, me and a friend got into an argument about my CNR fitting having semiconductors instead of having CCC rigs. To the point, is it better generally to have more cap or a slightly faster regen time?

For PVE you want more regen, for PVP you want more max cap. However, you might want to consider a few things, first of all; I now have one of those annoying sigs. second; you should probably move on to some more interesting things than reading this sig.

CCC's raise the entire regen curve on the Y axis of the regen graph plot, while as stated, SC only raise the peak of the curve. You'd have to actually plot both regen curves for all permutations of ways to combine the two rigs to find what gives the highest peak regen, but I suspect three CCC's is what gives the highest peak regen.

Idea between the two is following: a) quick bursts of small amount of cap b) slow big bursts of cap
a) can be achieved with CCC rigs and rechargers. b) is best served with a combination of CCC's, rechargers and cap batteries
or you can skip the debate and use cap boosters.

Sometimes in PVP more ready cap is better. For PVE, and in the case of that ship, probably not. --- I smack just for myself. Allow faction cap boosters to be traded via normal market ! |

Generally you'll want to fit missile rigs on it...
SMCs will give a wider band of (lower) peak regen on top of more cap, but lower overall regen than CCCs.

Actually it is situational, in some circumstances adding more cap can make you cap stable instead of increasing recharge. I have a few builds where I increased the max cap using rigs instead of using CCC's, in order to get cap stability on PvE ships. I have seen a few builders use them, but many do nto talk about them, and just watch people blindly fit CCC's. In one vuild I was able to remove the CCC for the increase in max cap, and fit dmg rigs instead of the typical all CCC fit. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Also once you have high enough damage (750+ preferably higher) you can do missions with as little as 5-4mins of capacitor.

In case someone takes this seriously... energy grid rigs have no drawback, and help out anything that uses cap ( inc say, afterburners, active hardeners,TP, whatever else you might want to fit ). Cap safeguards use less calibration but don't actually give you more cap, just make the booster a bit more efficent and then reduce it's efficiency again by bloating your sig up.
