So I'm somewhat new to the pvp scene, starting by trying a little can flipping. Well last night someone made it easy, they were mining, in a hulk, in .5, with a jetcan instead of a secured container. So... I fly up, snatch their golden omber out of their can, or at least what I can carry, and set orbit on the Hulk to see if he'll aggress me. Sure enough he saw my little Worm frig and decided that his 5x Hammerhead 2's should do the job, and he locked and attacked! Total win! I fly over 1k m/s with Hob II's and pretty solid resists, so the HHII's barely scratched the paint, I dropped them like flies and turned my attention to the Hulk (Had him warp scram'd from the start)
Now the funniest part about this story, is that I was going to ransom the guy for a generous 75 mil, a fraction of what his ship would have cost him. The first time I try to convo him, he declines, the second time it tells me he isn't online or something of that nature. So I popped him The moral of the story here is to miners, don't emoragequit so fast, you can get away with a simple ransom and save your ship, and I would have been much wealthier too, because I only got 13 mil worth of modules out of it.
Flame Resistant PS. I know can flipping is common but for a new pvp/pirateer it was a fun experience and made me laugh that I got someone to ragequit while their ship was being smoked already, so I wanted to share my joy with everyone who can relate to the love for tears

You can call it pathetic if you wish, I just recently got into pvp and my first fight was actually against a destroyer whom I stole from his wreck in a .5 system and got him to aggress me. I know it's not as action packed as going into low/null sec, but low/null sec seems to be all gang/blobs and I'm dabbling with some solo pvp because that's what I am inclined to do.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but ANY of you who pvp at all, would jump on the chance to blow up a hulk using a normal jetcan in a .5 system, who is either dumb enough, or inexperienced enough, to think his 5 drones are going to kill you. It's a VERY expensive target that I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to blow up. And had he not ragequit, I was going for my first ransom on a ship that would be worth ransoming. I only blew him up because he made the decision to refuse me even the opportunity to chat with him. I even withdrew my drones and missiles for a minute or two once I got into hull to see if he would come back, leaving just the scram on him. Maybe he thought he could pull the plug and it would warp him off? I dunno, but for a new player with a < 200 mil wallet to get the chance to blow up a 300+ mil ship just felt like epic win

I also hope it happened in an area I sell hulks in.

lol probably won't buy another one, I'm assuming he was some middle school kid who has worked all summer at saving up for his hulk, and thought he was safe in a .5 system because it is after all "high sec" but has Omber so better mining then the .7's he mined all summer. Probably was flying something he couldn't afford to lose, and when he realized it was going to be lost, he quit, maybe (hopefully) even cancelled his subscription out of hatred and pure emorage

I knew simply putting the word "emoragequit" in the topic would bring out the trolls. the whole point wasn't veld or omber, nor was it how dangerous it was to can flip a hulk. The topic was that this person's attempt to ctrl+Q cost him his hulk over a measley bounty, as well he probably would have learned the lesson either way that he may not want to aggress someone taking 300 units of his golden omber just because he got kill rights, and tech II drones aren't the be all end all of self defense on a hulk.
But thanks for reading, and leaving the entertaining comment

Lol, the trolling started with the OP post. And cool story. You must be so proud of yourself now. Does the thought of "bullying" a "middle school" kid turn you on? Does it give you an orgasmic pleasure?

Yah, me too got my ass handed to me by pvpers when in a mining ship or hauler. Most of them were mature enough to understand a noob does those things cuz he still needs to learn.
But there's always those who think killing defenseless ships with clueless pilots using T2 frigates is an accomplishment. He probably couldn't even tell your worm from a merlin.

I've been away from Rens / Frarn for a few weeks now, very easily may have blown up one of my caracal's I was playing with fittings on. Who knows, nothing memorable anyway, lol.
Now as a reply to the troll posts: You're right, the only thing I needed to do was make A post about it, I guess it doesn't really have to have any special word in it.
And yeah it does give me a little laugh that I harassed a helpless miner, when he was completely safe until he opened the gates by targeting and sending his drones after me. It makes me laugh even more, that he logoffski'd when he easily could have got out of the situation for 1/4 the cost of his ship. And I almost feel like I did him a favor because I'm sure he's learned a pretty valuable lesson from it. Yes, I did feel the need to make a new post about it, because it's entertaining and I enjoy the funny comments, be it trolls or not So I'm going to thank all of those comedians again for entertaining me today

Hulks go for 130millions. Add T2 drones (5 mills?), T2 strips (3 mills each), any amount of tank... I doubt you'd reach 300 millions without a faction fit. And if he was faction fit and didn't know tha T2 meds aren't best against frigs... he deserved to die anyway.

Ok, but I was going to ask for a bounty of 75 mil, had he offered 40 mil I probably would have taken it, that would still have been a very handsome "first ransom" for me.
