If you dont know why he left then you dont know that it should be a private matter.
It could be that he left for family reasons or for a prefered job - that would be a a private matter. If on the other hand he left because he discovered massive cheating by other devs and was forced out aand paid off because he threatened to tell the players then that wouldnt be private it would be a cover up.

because a week after post 3 some other ccper bloged that nah we aint gonna do any of that, we are gonna do this instead!
that lead to a lot of player rage, and then a few months later they reverted mostly to what abathor said

Seleene, two e's, is insensitive and didn't consider that other people might have similar names! ______________________________

Wrong.
CCP Abathur was hugely involved with all the wormhole stuff. The supercarrier changes he and his team worked on were cancelled/delayed until much later.
But yeah, throw dirt and rumours around with no proof at all. I just wonder what people gain from that sort of behaviour. It is beyond me. |

yeh he did. He changed whole 0.0 from BS/capital playground to 'supercaps only' field. I prefer him away from eve developement as it is tbh, no need to imbalance game so heavily any further.

No, he delayed it becoming capitals online. The AoE DD, and DDD was forcing capfleets to take the place of BS fleets.
Look on youtube for a carrier being doomsday'd.
motherships were WORTHLESS other than a huge trophy. They were still numerous, but never fielded because they didn't have much over using a regular carrier. The HP buff and capkilling changes gave players the balls to use them on the battlefield. The same goes for the titan HP buff.
No, supercapital proliferation was growing before Seleene pushed the changes through, he made them more likely to die instead of collecting dust. In fact, more supercapitals have died since Apoc since Rev -> Apoc. I'd guess more than twice as much.

1. titan DD change was incoming if you wanted it or no - i dont have any issue with this one. 2. supercap HP boost - made supercaps so effin hard to kill you actually see less of them die nowadays than during pre-seleene-changes era (and mind you: there are more produced than before). Especially when we include carrier spammage/carrier RR 3. cap proliferation was also bad but still you had decent chances of combat in BS vs cap fleets. Tell me how many pure cap (as in no supercaps/few supercaps) fleets have you seen lately? Oh yea... not many as supercaps took over the place of normal caps - as they are much harder to kill. 4. titans and carriers did take over dread (biggest damage dealers in game... at least by CCP DEVs few years back) role as fleet damage dealers. Carriers are used mostly as supercap ambulances now. Havent seen lots of dreads lately.
So no, he didnt stop cap proliferation. He just changed it from cap to supercaps. If you think otherwise: just link me to any large cap vs cap combat where supercaps didnt play major/breaking role.
The "giving balls" is a joke i suppose? MSes are so good if you could deploy MS only fleet instead dreads (as in: you had ships + pilots) you would NEVER use dreads. So where are those balls you speak of? In using overpowered ship class? I guess then using BS fleet to kill t1 cruiser fleet means BS pilots also have balls - their ships cost more.
The amount of supercap deaths - as above. They dont die that often. Most of deaths were from one-lagged-to-hell combat where something went wrong (PL titan deaths, NC titan deaths, prolly some multi-MS kill spree i missed). And still there are is least 2-3x more produced-to-dead rate than before.
Also lol @ abathurs "players will never use supercapital blobs as they cost too much". Seleene being naive? stupid? Dunno... But anyone who actually has just a little clue could guess how capital fleet composition would look like after those changes. Well except seleene.

I had to edit your quotes down, but I'm not being selective it's just so my post fits.

neither do I, however the change was part of the entire supercap lineup. You're assuming that it was in the plans beforehand, however we can only go by the knowledge of WHEN it was released.
Quote: 2. supercap HP boost ...
Wrong, more and more die every day. It's so common now that people don't even bat an eye. when they go down. I can recall of at least 4 in the past few days, and I believe 2 titans.
I've known of only 2 cases in which carriers were called in to save a mom, and in both cases failed to do so.
Quote: 3... Tell me how many pure cap (as in no supercaps/few supercaps) fleets have you seen lately? Oh yea.......
How many pure capital fleets? What does that matter? But if you want to know, the other night. We had a single mom and about 50 carriers.
Yes, supercaps are used more these days, and they die more. This is exactly what CCP put che changes for. In fact that's the EXACT REASON that was stated.
And no sir, you did not have ANY chance in a subcap vs caps beforehand. You'd have a TDD or DDD thrown at you, or the moros of doom.
Quote: 4. titans and carriers did take over dread (biggest damage dealers in game... ....Carriers are used mostly as supercap ambulances now. Havent seen lots of dreads lately.
YES! moms are friggin cap killers, that again is their ROLE IN THE GAME. They have fighter bombers designed to kill dreads and carriers!
Carriers are used as they always were- fleet logistics, support for subcap fleets, and boring-as-hell repping.
dreads are still used not only to kill supercaps, but also SBUs, iHubs, and station services as well as the usual towers.
However, I have something to add to this but will down below.
Quote: So no, he didnt stop cap proliferation. He .....cap vs cap combat where supercaps didnt play major/breaking role.
So... you are saying that you're ok with capital fleet combat, but not supercapitals in fleet combat, because they kill caps? I'm confused. I'm not going to go searching to please you, but they do happen.
Quote: The "giving balls" is a joke i suppose? ...I guess then using BS fleet to kill t1 cruiser fleet means BS pilots also have balls - their ships cost more.
You would deploy a mom fleet to take out a POS or iHub? sorry, but no. You need the heavy DPS that even bombers can't do against million HP targets.
Dreads are almost compeltely insurable, and supercaps aren't. Your comparison is completely flawed. But taking 3 HACS against a fleet of 30 BS that get hard over killing you. That's balls.
Quote: The amount of supercap deaths - as above. They dont die that often. wat?
Try again. MS losses are not through lag these days with some exception. Most are solo/small gangs that catch them off guard, just as cap losses were in the early stages. They will be used and lost more and moer often.
Quote: But anyone who actually has just a little clue could guess how capital fleet composition would look like after those changes. Well except seleene.
I know, they're actually being used, and titans are more than bridges hiding in a POS shield. Darn.
