Hello there,
Read some threads about it, even related policies, but didn't find something about this exactly:
If I don't like my recently transferred char's name, is there any way to change it? a CCP service (free or not) or a name change after the transfer maybe?
Regards.

You'd have to prove the name was offensive in order for CCP to green light a change.
You get what you pay for, so in your case they won't change it.
I suppose this must be my sig. I'll do something cool with it eventually. |

I'm afraid it's not going to work. Characters have a very bad reputation, it wouldn't be good that you can change its name just by transferring it to another account; it may as well be the same original owner.

mmm didn't see it in that way, I'm not that... dirty haha, anyway, you can change its name and keep its standings and kos list since character ID would be the same (and they're using Ids instead of names internally, that's for sure).
Thank for your replies ;)

And using character ID's would help us how? It's not as if you can search for character ID in the EVE client and tbh it is irrelevant if CCP can track a character, it is the players that should be able to do it easily.

And even if such a function would be implemented for players, I really do not want to do a show info and check the char ID on any player in local and cross check with an excel ist I have to keep just because he could be one of those players I need to be aware of for some reason or another.
Also, there is a large ongoing thread on this topic in Features and Ideas Discussion: Linkage

you both got it the wrong way, when I talk about Ids, it means that even if you change your name the rest will be the same, everybody who got you in his friend/black list by standing, will keep seeing your new char name instead, but same standing, so no double checks on ids, just will see it in red or whatevs but as different name, you will even be able to see your notes on it.
But anyway, it seems it's not implemented yet so, thank you for your opinions.
I'm done here

No need to put 'yet' in there. It's very deliberately not implemented that way.

As said above there are a lot of names on a lot of blacklists. And there are "well known" chars in eve, may the owner like it or not, known by most of the bunch of more experianced eve gamers.
I donŠt want to get deeper into this scammer-spy-whatever thing, but be aware that once your rep is ruined, it will last for the lifetime of that toon.
So, when buying chars (and iŠm very much angainst this) do the check-ups in EVERY possible way, or you might find yourself in a toon all you can do is biomass, as nobody else in clear mind would buy it.
Hope this helps.

For anything other than a change in capitalization, name changes don't happen outside of offensive names. Period.
Good luck convincing the GM that your new char's name is horribly offensive in your specific dialect/religion/cult. _______________________________
