Ok, I have a quick, maybe obvious question.
As a corporation that is looking to allow some members the opportunity to produce off of corp BPOs I am trying to learn the process of locking them down and what that accomplishes.
From what I've gathered it requires an in-game coporate vote. I have never been through the process of setting one of these up yet. So I assume from that vote there should be an actionable item that the game allows you to 'lockdown' the BPO with?
And that means we lock the BPO in the corp hangar and station we want it to stay at right? What about usage, do corp members still have full use of the bpo, but they just can't move it?
Thanks in advance. Sorry if the obvious answer is obvious. I shall continue with Google in the meantime.

Yes, when you go into the corp menu and politics click on the "propose vote" and select lockdown BPO, then select the corp hangar, then the BPO. Vote, then wait...

Just keep in mind after collecting the blueprints, some will begin to randomly unlock. I have over 200 blueprints and 20-something will randomly unlock for no reason

There's a reason. It's called "CCP Failcode Sauce"

The entire process:
- Right-click a BPO that is in a corporate hangar in an office in a station (NPC or player-owned). - Select "Propose lockdown vote". - Confirm. - Go to the Corporation window > Politics > Votes > Open Votes - Find the vote you just proposed, click on it, click the option that says Yes - Wait 24 hours - If more than 50% shareholders voted Yes (counted by number of shaares everyone owns), the vote is passed. - Wait a bit more, usually 1-2 hours. - Find the vote in Corporation window > Politics > Sanctionable Actions > Not in effect - Click the vote to expand, click Apply. - Blueprint is now locked, it can be used for production/research as usual, but it can not be moved until it is unlocked. Not even by the CEO/directors.
You must be a director to propose a vote and to put it in action. To unlock a BPO, follow the same process, just select "Propose unlock vote" at the beginning. You can not lock down BPCs. ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |

I've not used the Lockdown feature before I do it a slightly different way. it requires 2 hangars to do 1st Hangar Stores the Blueprints and only your directors have Take access to this Hangar, Everyone else has view access 2nd Hangar is the manufacturing hangar, materials get put here and output gets delivered here, you give the manufacturing guys access to this hangar.

The corp production system is kinda broken.
"Factory Manager" gives your members the ability to cancel all corp jobs. Thus 1 member can cost the corp it's entire production business.
Makes doing an open production corp with locked blueprints difficult because you still need to trust regardless of settings.

I was going to suggest this as well.

And here is why it happens: When you went through clicking on all of the votes, occasionally you clicked a "VOTE" button that was partially off the screen. This produced some kind of (very annoying) bug. If you petition it, your petition will remain ignored for weeks.
To fix it, vote to unlock and remove all of the BPOs that are unlocking and put them in a container in your personal hangar. Wait for a downtime. After DT, put them in corp hangar again and redo the lockdown vote. Be very careful that no part of the vote is scrolled off the screen as you click it. Admittedly, it was several months ago when I was wrestling with this, so I may have remembered something wrong, but I think this covers everything.

This means two things, they might or might not matter for your corp.
One. One hangar is used up, you can not grant Take access to this hangar to anyone but the people trusted with the BPOs. You can lower the impact by putting the BPOs in your corp headquaters and using the relevant roles.
Two. If anyone in any way actually gains Take access to that hangar, he can grab all the blueprints immediately, without a trace, even from across the universe (Right-click > Deliver > Member). If most of your corp's assets are going to be the blueprints, you might want to use the 24 hour safety lock. ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |
