Originally by: Stick Cult I do not think CCP doesn't want you to PVP. Dominion was an expansion dedicated to nullsec, it may have been terrible, but it was meant to be a nullsec revamp. Apocrypha was PVE, with wormholes, but it also provided a lot of new PVP opportunities.
The next expansion, with Invasions, is mostly PVE oriented, but it deserves it. PVE has sucked for a long time, and I bet there will be plenty of PVP opportunities in the new Invasion thing. The lag isn't intentional, obviously, CCP wants to make the game as good as possible, and they are working on lag, check out the dev blogs.
Can I have your stuffs?
Too bad that expansion introduced lag which ruined all large scale engagements.
Just prior to it we fought 1200+ battles with less lag than you see in most 300 man engagements these days.

Originally by: T'arho Currently PVP in eve is lacking because of technical problems and because of the fleet blob warfare that people think is the only thing that happens out in null. When in fact small group warfare and soloing is still very much alive.
Well one thing I noticed during Max2 or whatever you call the failed campaign in the north.
Yes there were daily large laggy fights with blackscreen of doom and other issues. But you still had a ton of smaller engagements and encounters in numbers from 5-100 pilots and these are were the majority of ship losses happened. Ofcourse capital losses and battleship losses were more common in the big fights but a campaign where large scale engagements happens tend to mean there is a lot of smaller engagements as reinforcements are ambushed , people head home in small groups due to timezone constraints(CET midnight is a classic case where fleets get smaller).
Not to mention people repping up towers & getting dropped.
All this drives the eve economy but I dont really see it happening since current server conditions means that if you jump into a large hostile force odds are you will all be dead before you load the system.
