OK, so please go use a calculator and see if you see the same results (DONT USE EFT as it gives the same results as eve). I'm wondering where I'm going wrong with my calculations, or is it eve... 5250 is the base correct?
5250 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.15 * 1.15 * 1.15 * 1.275 * 1.275 * 1.275 = 20115.95128
this is assuming eve and eft stores the decimals and not cut it off and round it down each time. however even rounding it down would be over 20k which i need badly.
5% is for caldari skill.. i'm at lvl 4. 15% is cargohold op I 27.5% is cargo expander II
so wwhere am i going wrong?

Edited by: SurrenderMonkey on 06/09/2010 03:23:48 Bonuses from ship level are not compounding. If you have indy skill at 4, and the base is 5250, the math is:
5250 * 1.2 * 1.15 * 1.15 * 1.15 * 1.275 * 1.275 * 1.275 = ~19859 --------------- Faction-Militia:Player-Alliance::Newbie-corp:Player-corp |

5250 * (1 + industrial skill * 0.05) * 1.275^3 * 1.15^3
Note that this is typical of how all skills in EVE are applied.

Amarr Bestower: Largest skill levels 1-3 Minmatar Mammoth: Largest skill level 4 Gallente Iteron Mark V: Largest skill level 5 (of course training to this level unlocks other ships for all races).
I started with a Badger Mark II, but then trained for a Bestower because it was larger; takes about 1 day. I eventually trained for a Caldari Charon though because every m3 counts for me.
so if my calculations are correct, If i fit it with the same thing as my badger but with 4 expander ii instead of 3 and i train for just amarr indy 2, then it should be above 20k? man why did i even go with the badger. what a waste of time
4800 * 1.275^4 * 1.15^3 * 1.1 (for lvl 2 indy skill).. actually lvl 1 indy would do the trick.. jeeze its too good to be true!

Badger is good for other things. First, it's a stepping stone to the Crane, Bustard, and Charon (all good ships). Second, Badgers actually make decent Q ships; one poster a couple of months ago killed a Dramiel in a Badger II. Now, I still suggest training for a Mammoth. It does take a couple of days longer, but you can get just over 27k m3 with rigs in a Mammoth at skill level 4. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

That spreadsheet seems to either be out of date or miscalculating something, as I'm staring at 2x T2 rigged Occator in-game that has 38,663.7m3 capacity, not the 37,053m3 listed in the table.

EFT doesn't have access to the eve source. Therefore similarities between the two are generally the result of the EFT people knowing how the calculations work...
So... yeah, use EFT for now, til you understand them yourself.
