So, this is my character sheet. http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schalac Mainly on this character I run missions, and when I feel like having fun I build ridiculously expensive ships and get them blown up in failed PvP engagements. If this was your character sheet what would you train next? Group hug, lets all decide my future through the forums. SCHALAC HAS SPOKEN |

You mention being a main pve but don't have that high of social skills, cruise missle spec, marauders, and if you don't have a market alt, consider getting some trading skills up on this character as well.
That's what sticks out for me at least. |

you could also consider training up Gallente BS, add in Sentry Drone interfacing and you could set up a passive Rattlesnake for lvl 5s.

You build stuff, so invent your own T2 blueprints. Throw the bpcs and a bunch of crap into a manufacturing slot, go shoot people, come back and profit.

Is that a troll? There's lots of better ships for missions. The Drake is actually kinda poor...

Edited by: Free Folen on 06/09/2010 06:44:49 how about t2 ships and Hybrids Turrets and , if you want to pvp turrets is the way to go and if you have the isk t2 ships are the way to go. Or you can try cross training to other races.
or if you want to carebare and make isk you can get Refining to 5 and Refining efficiency to 5 (like 2 weeks) and get 99.5% refine on your loot and with some scrap metal processing you get 100%.
or if you want long term missioning stuff you can train for golems and t2 missiles rigs and salvaging 5 and get the perfect mission boat ingame.
Originally by: Schalac .. I fly Drakes for PvE, they are the best ships for missions.
Drakes are really good but aren't the best isk/h in HI-SEC
t2 cruise or torpedoes on CNR or golem kill much faster and have enough tank (or that's what I have heard , I fly 0.0 so I don't do allot of missions)
There are allot of skills for every profession you choose ,and not allot of people choose only one profession .

Maybe people just don't understand. If you had my character, what would you do next? What direction would you take these skills? I have massive shield tank skills and almost massive armor tank skills. My gunnery core is a little lacking but my missiles are top notch. Say if you were to commit to a perception/willpower skill training plan for a year, what holes would you close up before before committing your attributes to PER/WIL?
Now what if you were to commit to an Intelligence/Memory plan to year? What way would you go?
And why would you go that way?
I am at a crossroads in my training. I'm not quite sure what to do considering that all my current skills meet 99% of the needs I have on this character. I am Caldari through and through, I fly siege Ravens and rocket Hawks, mixed with Jags and Wolfs. I also fly incredibly expensive stealth bombers to run my FW missions.
If you were me what would you do next? SCHALAC HAS SPOKEN |

When I run missions it's as a corp. Two drakes tanking the mission and geddons/megas/drones/whatever doing the damage. I can finish any level 4 mission in about 15 minutes, If I choose to actually move fast. Cruise missile 5 allows me to fit a pretty nice mission Raven. Not that I ever use a Raven for them. Screw the carebear/PvP comparison. Look at the skills and define what I should do and why. SCHALAC HAS SPOKEN |

a golem would do that but faster and no need to get a looting/salavging alt.

You can't ask that: I live in 0.0 so for me its t2 ships up until caps.
you NEED to tell us what you want to do , what I want to do/(what I do) is nothing like what you want to do, some people will want to train large arty spec for suicide ganking witch is the last thing I would think of doing. Tell us what you want to do and we will give you advice of where to go there. Otherwise my best advice to you is that I would have sold that char to "free folen" for 1 ISK. That's the best advice I can give you.

A tengu is a nice upgrade path from the drake. You have the tankiness, extra speed, and all the skill you trained for the drake translate directly. Even better, you only need one of them instead of having two drakes tanking the missions.
T3 ships are awesome PvP bait.

Caldari and Gallente Drone Spec 4 Your Electronics Skills as a whole, so you can make good use of the BB/Scorp/Rook/Falcon Energy Emissions 4, to save ISK on neuts Launcher Rigging 5, to save CPU on certain tight fits Shield Rigging 5, because sig tanking is cool
Then I'd put everything into Perc/Wil, finish up your missile skills (Specs to 4 at least) and go to town on ship skills and gunnery. It would also be a good idea to make sure you can fly a Tengu.

If you were to do an int/mem remap my thought vary based on what we know you have said you do with your character currently. Social skills definitely since this is a pve primary alt, work up and get t2 heavy/sentry drones, more ecm skills since you are already caldari primarily, boost up your rigging skills for a bit more out of any rigs you might use or work on more industry type skills to add some more versatility to your character though it would be a big turn in your current direction.
For a per/wil remap, work on getting into a tengu, marauders as you already meet all the requirements, cruise missle spec as that does nothing but help and getting it to 2 is very fast, the ability to fly every non cap ship , t2 caldari ships, see about toying with other races frigs as well since you have assault ships to 5.
Unless you shift races on your ships per/wil will soon run dry leaving a more support skill training route as your best option. |

That's the thing. On this character I have achieved what I want to do. I can now run every mission I choose to do without problem. I can fit a PvP ship that I like to fly without problem. Small Arty spec aside I have reached my goals for Schalac. Other than just randomly training up every skill willy nilly, I would like to get info from other pilots as to where I should concentrate my money. What path would you choose if you were in my pod? What skills would you look at and what ships would you go for next considering my current skills? I'm so bad at that it hurts. I look at my character sheet and I'm thinking to myself, what do I really need. I draw a blank, because I honestly believe that I have mastered myself. I have reached the point in game where I know that I'm not interested in capital ships, even though I have skill plans for them on EVEMON, yet I want to expand my character. I fell though that there are unknown options out there for me, so this is why I ask for incite on my character.
I have gunnery specced pilots, I have market/leadership/scanner/EWAR/gank/miner/whatever alts, I have suicide machines. But for my love I have it all ready to be used in one character. I just honestly don't know where to go next with it. T3 is an idea. Yet I have never really been a fan of better ships. I like to fly T1 frigs. Merlin is my master. Merlin is probably my favorite ship in the game. It's decently quick and fitted right it's a powerhouse to be reckoned with. Maybe that is why I love the Hawk and Harpy so much. It just looks like a badass ship.
I'm drunk, asking for advice on my path, and hope there is someone out there that looks at my sheet and can tell me what else I can do to make my character more fun to log in for. SCHALAC HAS SPOKEN |

Low hanging fruit? Tengu is an easy pick. Does just about anything and you're mostly there.
Lofty goals that are fun in the end? Max out your launcher (including siege spec), gunnery (including large ac's), drone (including heavies and sentries), and armor tanking skills. Get minmatar BS V. Fly the most stupidly skill intensive (and fun), high dps, and ugly sub-cap in the game at it's best: The Typhoon.

Yeah, I quit on my drone skills once I got interfacing 5. I should of kept going but I got bored of it.
Quote: Your Electronics Skills as a whole, so you can make good use of the BB/Scorp/Rook/Falcon
I was thinking of going straight scorp pilot for a while...I already had cal BS 5 and just needed to train a few skills to max. After playing that way on another account though I realized how much it sucks to field a scorp and how fast they are killed in a fleet engagement. My scorps last 30 seconds, I fly my Ravens home.
Quote: Energy Emissions 4, to save ISK on neuts
T2 neuts are not always the best.
Quote: Launcher Rigging 5, to save CPU on certain tight fits
I have not really ever had a problem with fits, unless it's a stealth bomber, and you only need 4 for the fit I am going for on them.
Quote: Shield Rigging 5, because sig tanking is cool
Again, maybe it helps to get 5. With my shield skills and the ships I normally fly I should probably bite the bullet and just do it. Yeah that's a good point.

Don't like the Tengu. Sure it has lots of potential and is a nice tank. But I love a good ole Siege Raven more. The Raven is the reason I am Caldari. State Raven to be exact. I had friends that were Amarr and Gal...one was even Minmatar. Then my brother showed me the State Raven, Showed me a video of it in action, I was hooked. Caldari for life, I just so happened to believe in the creed that Caldari followed when I joined the game in 2005. I still follow that creed and will still bring my Siege Ravens into battle. It's just me. SCHALAC HAS SPOKEN |

The problem isn't that you trained multi race, the problem is that you wanted to fly every ship in each race. I mean I'm multi race as well but I don't care for ships bigger than CS for now.

Edited by: Limdood on 07/09/2010 16:49:39 step 1, for PvE, get into a HAM Tengu and go carve up missions at 4 TIMES faster than a drake, and nearly TWICE as fast as a CNR and as fast as a Golem (faster on missions with lots of cruisers or far away gates). I used to challenge myself to finish Gone Berserk L4 in my CNR before the first bounty tick. I usually made it right at the 20 minute mark.....the tengu does it in 12 minutes.
Step 2, for PvP, get yourself into a Falcon and max out those jamming skills....many lulz will ensue. As far as SAFE PvP goes, you're already maxed....a max-skill Drake will give you some great survival and killing power without risking hardly ANY ISK.
Step 3, get Core Competency Elite (certificate). Why? cuz those skills are REALLY useful, and can make transitions to new ships much much easier.
