Tomorrow will be a sad anniversary in our collective history. An event which rocked the world to it's foundations, and which proved that no government - whether democratically elected or otherwise - in any country is safe from these kind of attacks.
We remember you, Salvador Allende and the brief flowering that was democratic Chile in 1973. Shame on you Mr. Pinochet, shame on you indeed.

he is an example of why Crazy and Religion should not be mixed. In fact I think it even mentions that on the bottle of Liquid Religion. "Warning: Volatile Reactions may occur if mixed with crazy."

I think the appropriate thing to do is just remember the (around) 3000 lives that were lost tragically and unnecessarily, and hope that people can forgive instead of retaliate (well its too late for that ofc, and thousands more have been killed, but in regards to the koran burning, you'd think christians would think along those lines)

Those bombs were dropped as a result of a cost benefit analysis. The cost of dropping the bomb was the murder/killing of 100,000 civilians per bomb. The benefit was avoiding the deaths of over a million soldiers on each side in ground war should the United States have to invade mainland Japan.
Personally, I think those bombs saved lives. -------- On Topic: Instead of only "remembering" 9/11, try figuring out what greater symbol 9/11 represents. To me, it is a symbol of why religious fundamentalism must be eradicated from minds everywhere. This is not to say that religion is bad.

Maybe. The problem is: other countries could see it likewise: IE: Iran might see it costwise to nuke Israel or USA before they attack Iran. Or Pakistan nuking India before India attacks Pakistan etc. etc. etc.
And it would definitely be rational for such states to develop these weapons based on this mindset: it is simply the best weapon of deterrence the world have ever seen!

Nuclear weapons are mankind's Damocles sword. They probably prevented WW3 between the Soviets, Warsaw Pact and NATO led by USA. Countries that have nukes and their leaders feel responsible to their citizens they are used as a deterrence.
But if you have a country that is run by a nutjob that secretly would be content for millions of its citizens to perish so he can kill lots of westerners.
Iran's leadership are not nutjobs as such. They play a cute game of cat and mouse of winding up USA and its allies. The problem is with this brinkmanship is if USA or Iran miscalculates how the other will reacts. Which could create a real dangerous escalation towards conflict. China, Russia and other countries that don't want to follow USA's lead give degrees of support to Iran.

I congratulate you sir, for having a complete lack of understanding of a historical event that firmly places you within the academic range of those who think the moon landings were faked.

You mean the american historical view of it? For the rest of the world it was a disgrace. After murdering aprox. 166.000 people in Hiroshima, USA decided it was so successfull that they decided to murder another 80.000 in Nagasaki. No sir. It is I who should congratulate you!

Death is death, the Dresden firebombings killed more. Japan killed around 300,000 people in the Nanking Massacre.

Those bombs were dropped to end the greatest war the world has ever known, millions of people were slaughtered across the world. it had to end!! Ok maybe 2 bombs was uneccesary, although Japan still refused to surrender after the first bomb, so thats evolution baby! if your stupid enough to ask for a second nuclear strike be ready to get one!

So from your words, Iran could get a bomb and use them in an eventual coming war with USA/Israel. because they will have that moral right to do so since they are being occupied. And real-politika is at that point irrelevant.
USA decided under the 2nd world war to not interfere. That is untill japan sunk their ships. And for retalliation they killed 250.000 innocent people. As a norwegian from a occupied country under the war I too would have liked to see the war end early. It does not however permit wholesale slaughter on innocent people.

Nuclear armed nations don't fight each other. I highly doubt Iran will be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.
