Hi all, I recently made an alt to pvp with, flying minmitar hulls. I skilled up to min. frig IV, got my skills up for T2 weapons/armor/Ewar modules. So I'm flying around in a rifter, doing a little can flipping, making a few solo trips into low sec looking for fights while I finish off my learning skills to 5/4. So my question is, after I finish up my learning skills, where do I go from here?
I have narrowed my options down to 2 possible places: Cruisers (T1) and/or AF's. My pvp endevours are being financially supported by my carebearish toon, so keep in mind that isk isn't a major issue on ship losses. I personally really like what I read about the Jag, but I also have to keep in mind target selection and I'm just looking for some advice from experienced 's and pvp'ers. Eventually I'm sure I'll train for both AF's and cruisers but I'm looking at developing a new character who will probably eventually have a low sec. status and not be doing a whole awful lot in high sec space. I normally roam solo, and I'm aware of the many obstacles it presents when not running with a gang/fleet, but I like the challenge of it.
I have read a lot of guides, forum posts, and general information. Even with all that info at hand, I'm the kind of person, and eve seems to be the kind of game, that all of that info can help, but the real learning tool is experience in combat. I've got a few kills in my rifter on some other T1 frigs, and I've got a couple losses including a thorax and a succubus that pwned me pretty hard. I'm also more about fun then I am about being in a "god mode" ship. It seems like eve is enough rock/paper/scissors that there isn't a single ship that dominates everything. So from your experiences what are some of the most fun ships that can be flown by low SP pilots of the minmitar hulls?
Thanks!

Edited by: Alara IonStorm on 10/09/2010 15:07:08 A Popular Choice is the Hurricane
With tech 2 guns and gun skills at 4 it packs quite a punch, can be flown armor or sheild!
Also look into intercepters, they can spped tank larger ships and run most gate camps. The have a fast allign time!
Edit:
The Thrasher is nice if you have tech 2 guns, it's an excellent frig killer.
The Rupture is also a good choice as a cheap but powerful cruiser.
List
Trasher Claw Stiletto Jaguar Wolf Hound Rupture Cyclone Hurricane
These should be up your alley and not to long a train to use effectively!

I was going to tell to post this in Ships & Modules instead but then I noticed the pirate smiley so all is well ^_^
I'd go for bc's. They are the most bang for you buck in the mid sized ship department. AF's can be really nice as well though, for solo stuff. Normal T1 cruisers are kinda below par, except for a Rupture maybe. (Unless you plan to lose a lot of ships anyway or roll with a factional warfare fleet, T1 cruisers are the bread and butter in those). BC's eclipse them in terms of dps and tank though. Recruiting. |

Go back to CAOD. This is pirate land, we don't do blobs, and the only midrange is done by projectile or missiles. - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |

First off I didn't know what CAOD was befor you said it. And second as you see I'm in an NPC corp not a player one so who am I going to blob with?

That's what I read; I don't know if anyone else saw that or not. I, for one, welcome our new zombie overlords. |

I'd say rupture until you can reasonably fit a hurricane (if you're looking for the optimal price/effeciveness ratio - t2 hurricane wins).

playing quite a long time and have flown pretty much every ship in the game, cept a titan. Lately i'm just back flying a rifter. It's good, cheap, approachable fun. People are somewhat less frightened of the lowly t1 frig. I fly multi billion isk ships and get excuses from victims, I fly a rifter and most just say gf and maybe come back for round 2.
