Sometimes you need to log out and log in again for standings to properly update agent availability. Try that.

Which is your corporation standing and which is your Faction standing (they are different)?
What about before and after skills?

Yeah, that's the problem. They want your standing BEFORE skills to be 0.50. I seem to remember getting my alt's standings up to that level in an evening though, by doing the first few Gallente COSMOS missions.
There are sites out there pointing you in the right direction for them, but can't seem to find my old links. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed dimensions of 400x120 pixels and filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie |

Do 1 of the tutorials. I think it was advanced military tactics or similiar what gives you sheet which boosts your standing to required state to join FW in snap.

The skills asjustment just effects agents willingness to work with you. Everything else uses the base. Well, I guess not everything else. Diplomacy will stop enemny navies from attacking you.
FW can be rough for a newer player unless you know someone already doing it. Everyone will assume you are a spy and won't want you in their fleets. Ugh... there are so many spies in FW. Sickening.
Anyway, hang out in FW area, get on kill mails as a killer and as a killed target. When they call for help in general milita (rare, but it happens), then go. Build a kill history and let people get to know you. Then, perhaps, you can start to get accepted into the trusted fleets.

It is not just doing missions. Those increase your standing with the corp you are running for, not the faction. You have to do 16 before you are offered a storyline... the storyline missions increase faction standing.
The MUCH easier way to increase faction standing are the tutorials (there are 3 sets of tutorial agents per empire, so you can do the 3, 10-part tutorials 3 times each) and/or do COSMOS missions. These are special missions that each toon can only do 1 time.
If you are rolling in cash, you can also try turning tags into datacenters.
All this is googleable. "Eve COSMOS missions". "EVE Datacenters" "EVE tutorial agents"

Good luck, I started Gallente FW on sat, lost 5 ships in the first day. Get used to it, start in a rifter, no rigs, and make yourself useful as a tackler or a scout.

Well that sucks about the abundance of spies making it hard for new players to get in but meh.
Thanks for the info on the Faction standing stuff I will look into the Cosmos thing are they hard? As it stands I can use a AF (Gallente) with T2 blasters and (T2 drones in a few days) but i am putting around in a Incursus of doom ATM

Its not as bad as it seems. I posted an anoyed thread on the Warfare section of the thread last saturday about not getting started. (now just a trollthread) and since then i've got into some epic fleet fights. Be usefull rather than vague, like Eonus said, say your up for tackling and people will bring you along. If your thinking Gallente, give me a shout in game.
