Of course not, I would suggest those that want to make free isk for simply lending my money would be the correct audience. I guess I have difficulty gauging the resistance, since I û obviously û donÆt see myself as a scammer or think I would ever scam. If someone has a suggestion as to how I can prove some of these statement without providing my full API, I would be open to suggestions.
... I donÆt need the public isk, I thought it would be kind of me to provide the opportunity to the MD community. Thank you for your replies.

Another way of building public reputation (and thus, potentially garnering MD investment without the catch 22 of borrowing unsecured funds) is to run a public business. Corp sales, specialized mod /ship /research shop, lottery, etc. Estel's free JC service is a shining example, but you don't have to start that deep. The reason for doing this is twofold: it adds authenticity to your claim that you just want to "do it for the people", and it provides a fair number of people that can validate you're in the game doing stuff and not just a pretty forum face trumped up by alts.
Retired from corp sales. Time to spend some of this on pretty explosions :) |

Thank you Dzil, I was actually shocked with how constructive your post was. I appreciate your comments and I am trying to build up assets currently in order to do something like this.

"Independence" does not matter at all. Serenity is another thing and I don't want to risk having it biased even a bit.

Thanks for that. Now I will have something to link to whenever you are being mean to me (always). Can we still be friends?

All principle (5bln) will be returned at the end of the investment venture. I have been asked this question or think there might be some confuson. I personally guarantee the principle and at least 4% interest per a month that I have the funding.
I guess I should have included a right to cancel the project at any time. If I do cancel the project, I will return the money and that month's interest. I apologize for not including this in the original post, but I think that people understand I might have to discontinue, although I seriously doubt this will be an issue. If this poses a significant problem for investors, please note your concerns in this thread, or send me an evemail. If we cannot resolve your concerns, I will return your isk at any point before the venture goes live on October 1st.

Gabriel,
Looking for an update. Are you proceeding with this endeavor with the funds you have accrued thus far? Or are you ceasing because you did not meet your opening goal. Please advise. It's been 3 days without a post.

Edited by: Gabriel Virtus on 06/10/2010 06:23:43 Update!
Sorry for the lack of response lately, my ISP is garbage and I was going through a process of giving them the /finger and using a new ISP. Luckily, it has been sorted out. All isk has been received and the bond is full. Thank you to all of the investors, I look forward to making us all a decent amount of isk!
Unfortunately, Due to the slowness in receiving some of theisk , I am moving the start date of the IPO to October 8th. It means that I am pushing everything back 7 days from the proposal. This means:
First Month Period: October 8th, 2010 - November 8th, 2010. First interest payment, November 15th 2010. Second Month Period: November 8th, 2010 - December 8th, 2010. Second interest payment: December 15th, 2010. Third Month Period: December 8th, 2010 - January 8th, 2011. Interest and principle returned: January 15, 2011.
I was unable to start trading because I did not have the majority of the isk in the bond on time. I apologize for this, but I think it is the best interests of everyone involved. It means that I will still have 4 weeks to trade before the first interest payment which means more isk for eveyone.
I realize that this might cause some harm and I encourage any investor that has an issue with this action to respond in this thread or contact me in-game.
Wish me luck! The IPO is LIVE!

Update! INVESTMENT CLOSING
The first month of the investment plan was rocky to say the best, mostly due to RL concerns. The building that I currently live in was built in 1903 and I have now gone through the only 2 internet providers in my area. The problem is that the building simply will not maintain internet service. The landlord realizes this, and language in my lease lets him have around 1 month to fix the problem, so he is taking his sweet time. He originally claimed that internet availability was not part of the agreement and refused to address the problem. At this time, my internet is spotty at best and makes my particular type of trading very cumbersome. At this point, the issue should be solved in early December. Furthermore, there are other unforeseen RL concerns that will weigh heavily into my free time for the next couple of months. At this point, I think that closing the investment and returning all funds to the investors would be the best course of action. I am exercising my right to close the investment, as noted in this thread.
Trading went well, I had to fend off a competitor for about 2 weeks which ate into profits, but I am proud to say that even through all these problems, I was still able to make about 1.544bl in profit. The investors are entitled to 25% of that, or 386m. This is a 7.72% return on capital!
I am happy to have offered this opportunity and happy I was able to overcome all the issues to post 1.544bl in profit. If I have time, I will provide a summary of profits, i.e., what I made money on, what I lost money on, etc. I am positive that had I had reliable internet (it cut out for about 1 1/2 weeks in the middle of the month), I could have made much more.
tl;dr. Success! Investment closing due to RL concerns 1.544bl in profit 386m will be distributed + principal = 7.72% return.
I am proud to have served my investors and distributed 7.72% return on capital even through all the bumps and hurdles over the last month. If any investor has any concerns, please note them in thread. I will try as best as I can to check the thread and respond to them. I will start returning capital + interest immediately.

Principle and interest received, thank you. If you decide to run another offering would re-invest. Best of luck getting your internet sorted.
