So after almost a year planetside I hear the calling to return to outerspace and the cutthroat environment of Eve that I have enjoyed and prospered in for several years. With the help of an old industrial friend and his Orca I gather up my ships and mods I had scattered over several regions, I move close to a trade hub where I know there will be a lot of high sec targets. I leave my now dead corp and begin prepping ships for quick replacement and decide to get a good night sleep in anticipation of a long day of hunting.
The next day after two bowls of Wheaties I decide to start my day off in my Battle Bestower which is nicely fit for a long fight. As soon as I undock I warp to the first belt in the system I am in and wouldnÆt you know it. There are two mining ships in deep combat with floating rocks and beside each of them is a nice inviting jetcan.
My bestower crawls the twenty five kilometers towards the nearest jetcan. The owner has a pair of mining drones aiding in his attack on the helpless rock and I wondering what it did to deserve getting chopped up the way it is. As I reach the jetcan the miner launches two tech one drones I think to scare me away. I chuckle to myself as I peak inside the jetcan and fine over ten thousand M3 worth of ore. Well I never could resist a donations so I launch my own jetcan and quickly transfer the contents to mine leaving the bookmark in the minerÆs incase he wants to donate more then I now have. I begin a five kilometer orbit waiting for the attack but it doesnÆt come right away. Instead my mailbox begins to flash I have a new message. The sender is my new miner pal so I open it up with relish and see these words, ôCome back I have something special for you.ö I guess he didnÆt notice I never left. I am about to reply when his drones open up on me and begin to ruin my bestowerÆs paint job. Oh the humanity!!
In anger I web and scram him so he can not escape, activate my energy neutralizer to drain his cap and open up with my tech two small rail gun. It doesnÆt take long to see his retriever go pop leaving a nice wreck behind to loot. Unfortunately his mining lasers were destroyer but hey its my first kill since being back so I am happy. His pod warps away towards a station and I grab as much as I can of the ore and head back to station myself. As I am transferring the ore to my hanger I get another message from my new friend.
ôWhere did you go? Come back I have a nice surprise for you!ö
Oh really? I can hardly wait to see it. I change into my Ishkur incase he brought something really juicy with a bite and I head back to the asteroid belt. When I arrive only the other miner is there still locked in battle with his own rocks seemingly unaware of that his own jetcan will soon belong to me as well.
Just as I am about to warp back to station to get in my bestower again, my new miner friend arrives in a Merlin frigate just twenty two kilometers away. I activate my tech two warp disruptor and activate my afterburner closing the distance quickly. He opens fire on me and I laugh wondering if he knows he is about to lose another ship. I release five tech two warriors and open up with my guns. His ship just folds under the assault and he is soon in a pod with another wreck left behind. His pod warps off as I scoop up the tech one remains of his Merlin and head to station myself. As I a begin docking procedures my mail box starts flashing again. Its my new miner friend. He says, ôNow I salute you on a true fight between combat ships and not the take down of a helpless mining ship.ö I am a little disappointed because I was expecting flame mail to add to my collections but I have to give the guy props for being a good sport. So I mail him a fit I have used on my Merlins that will give him a better chance of surviving his next engagement.

Once in station I hop back into my Bestower and head back out to check on the other miner to see if he is still in the asteroid belt. Sure enough he is and I slowly crawl towards his jetcan. Bingo! Fifteen thousand M3 worth of ore sitting there waiting for a new owner. So I create my own jetcan and take possession of it mentally calculating how much I am going to get for it when I get it back to station and sell it. I begin to orbit the mining ship but he quickly warps to a station in system. I fill my cargo hold with as much ore as I can and head back to my own station.
Because the station I have all my ships in is orbiting the same planet as the asteroid belt I wait to dock and hit the directional scanner waiting to see what the miner returns in. I donÆt have to wait long as a Raven Battleship shows up on my scanner. I dock and look at my list of ships I have here. I quickly decide against my Armageddon because I want a good fight so I decide on my Brutix Battlecruiser.
With sweaty palms and heart pounding I undock and warp away towards the belt. I know full well I could lose this fight and probably should have gotten insurance on my ship. Oops. Too late now. I arrive in the belt and raven begins to lock me right away. I set course directly at him knowing my medium blasters need to be in close to maximize their damage. As soon as he launches his first flight of cruise missiles I activate my warp scrambler and launch my five medium ECM drones. OHHH!! With two medium energy neutralizers activated and my blasters firing away his shields begin to fall. My shields on the other hand just disappear in two barrages and he starts to eat away at my armor. He gets me down to about half when he loses his lock!
I continue my assault as he turns his ship away from me and starts to pull away. He is using an afterburner or maybe a microwarp drive because he is moving pretty quick for a battleship. So I activate my own Microwarp drive and hit my cap boosters watching my cap max out at fifty percent. I wonder where his drones are as his shields finally collapse and I start to eat away at his armor. My armor in the mean time has been repaired to one hundred percent with the help of my armor repairer so I deactivate it. Mean while the raven starts to slow as his cap drains to zero and his afterburner or Microwarp drive shuts off.
His structure starts taking damage and falls fast and in one last bite the raven sets off a smart bomb knocking my drones all into half armor as he explodes. I look up and thank the gods he didnÆt set that off sooner or he probably would have had me. Why he didnÆt is a mystery to me. I am also thankful he didnÆt launch his drones. Both of these made the ending we got inevitable. I scoop up the high end tech one mods from the wreck and head back to station as his pod warps away. I give a ôGFö in the local comm. Channel as I dock up with a huge smile on face. It was good to be back!

TL;DR is really a pathetic thing to admit. It was structured reasonably. Shame on you all.
Killed a barge, yawn Killed a t1 fit merlin in ishkur, yawn Killed a raven in a Brutix, nicely done (depending on raven fit)
Overall nice write up, maybe could have cut down on the 2 crap fights before getting to the interesting one. ~_~
