To give a new dimension to Eve, I think it would be excellent to create more interaction between PVP and PVE.
Players should have the possibility to create missions in the NPC Corporations. Agents could give these missions as they give level 1 to 4 mission now.
A character that have done missions for a corporation receive standings and Loyalty Points.
With these LP he can buy items.
But imagine that he could use it to create missions. A level 1 mission cost 2000 LP and a Level 4 50000 LP for example. The type of mission would depend of the corporation, but the player that create it should have lot of possibilities to customize it with NPC escort, type of ship expected etc... All these missions should have a PVP aspect like going in 0,0, or low sec, or factional warfare aspect etc.
If the mission is a success the character could double his LP, but lose all if it is a fail. He could never do the mission himself.
We can also imagine NPC mission like courrier that could be created by trader player to avoid them the boring freighter trips. (with all the risk of an autopilot move of freight)
Loyalty Points could be use to create NPC Bounties... Imagine a player hunted bye the member of an NPC corporation... |

I'm not even sure where to begin on how much you could exploit the **** out of this. |

This is essentially an extension of the contracts and bounty mechanisms, yeah? |

Yes there is probably ways to exploit this system. But it is just a question of balancing. The first idea is to give a way to players to create missions for other players and to interact with NPC to make them do things.

Nah, a far better mission would be "Warp your officer-fit Golem into my 0.0 bubble camp" |

Did you see a lot of player that make Courier Contracts? Another way to make these Courrier contrats would probably be useful. |

I've been wanting this (or something like this) for ages. My problem is that I've never been able to develop a comprehensive methodology to keep it on task without it being used specifically for piracy. Well, except attaching it as a function of being a space holding alliance, but that leads to all kinds of issues with unintentional PVP with zealous defenders of said space.
Maybe if it used Sleeper AI... But I don't personally know enough about those mechanics to be really helpful in this discussion. |

How about a mission editor, than players can try on Sisi, to test various scenarios. Then CCP can look at popular ones, and consider including them in the next patch?

I think if the Devs were allowed to take input from your average players (not CSM shills and those compromised players like the FW big-nuts or the disgraced lawyer) for ideas on more complex missions, we could make things a lot better. I've had plenty of ideas for longer, more complex "thinking" missions, but nowhere to make the suggestions. And no, the epic arcs aren't "thinking" missions: they're just longer versions of the same thing we have now. Throw in more of that AI we hear about sometimes, and have baddies with fits and intelligence that the players have/use, and it would get interesting. |

Um ... yes. It's already a well-used and vetted system. Just because you haven't used it much doesn't mean no one does.
And, as a few people have pointed out, this idea would be so badly abused that it's not even funny. |

I don't think that this system would be so easy to exploit. And even if an entire corporations would create missions for each other to gain Loyalty Points, it would not be a problem. It is why I spoke about missions that would be always PVP. Perharps it would be interesting to create a system where other players could receive loyalty points with an adverse corporation if they make the mission fail... Perharps the gain in loyalty points should be smaller 10% of the initial bet for example.
It is only the first step. Of course the game mechanism should be improve... |
