I'm currently building a thanatos for use in a C4 system but i have some questions. I've read many guides and forum posts but generally they refer to use of a carrier in low/null sec, not WH so here we go.
TANK: i know that a carrier has a massive amount of EHP, but is it's sustained armor tank enough to withstand a C4 radar site? is Triage required? (i plan to use faction EANM plus cap armor reps). The goal is to use the carrier with a small group of BS to spread aggro away from fighters, but inevitabley, i will find myself attempting to solo the C4 anomalies and sites.
Fighter Tank/DPS: Never having used fighters before but being well versed in gallente drone tactics, how long can a fighter tank if it primaried? I plan to use my cap remote reps to make sure the fighters get back to bay if needed, but i'd like to know ahead of time if they can be one-vollied by sleeper BS in a C4.
Escalations: I know the general consensus is that carriers only cause BS escalation spawns in C5-C6. I have however heard that they can spawn in C4 as well, but only the initial spawn of elite BS, no additional spawns for addition cap ships, can anyone confirm this? (i will find out for myself eventually, but as i said, planning ahead)
Additional Carrier Dmg: With not turret or missile slots, there is little you can do with a carrier to increase dmg. The WH i reside in however has a bonus to smartbombs and i was wondering if having smartbombs on a carrier would be worth it or not. Obviously drones would either be recalled or set on a distant target before Smartbomb use. Would say 4-5 faction smartbombs be enough to kill sleeper frigs in reasonable time or would it simply be a waste of time?
Any useful/additional info or referencs to a more complete WH carrier guide would be much appreciated.

I can't answer all of your questions, but I do know that smartbombs will have insufficient radius to hit the sleepers.

The bonus in my system makes faction smartbombs hit out to 10km, this is more than sufficient for frigs from what i've seen. Only thinking of using it for small ships as my fighters would have a hard time tackling and hitting frigs.

I would avoid soloing in a carrier. Eventually, a roaming gang will find you and make short work of your carrier. A former alliance mate lost his carrier in our class 2 because he was caught unaware when a roaming BS gang came in from the static C4 WH.

Doesn't spawn anything in C4.

sleepers go omnomnom on drones as you probably know so maybe sentries is a good idea to use

I've had escalations on a C1 radar when I brought in an industrial to sit 100kms away cloaked so the site wouldn't despawn. I hadn't opened up any cans. I'd try it again, but I have very little time to actually run the sleeper sites as it is and extra sleeper frigates don't give good enough loot for the trouble. YMMV
It will vary as most things do in a WH. My 24 hour static isn't always 24 hours, this time it's 36 hours.
I would definitely be very careful with the carrier or any other ship in a WH. Everybody loves WH raiding, including me when I get the chance.

The OP is talking about capital escalations. In a C5/C6 Wh, when you warp a capital ship to an anom/plex, 6 addition Sleeper Battleships spawn.

Indeed, i was refering to capital escalations. I've seen firsthand how bringing any ship (especially large groups of ships) can cause escalations in ANY sleeper site. With capitals however, you can trigger elite BS spawns in waves, up to 3 I believe (first cap warping in causes first wave, second ship causes second wave, etc).
As i said, i dont intend to use it for soloing often, but i'd like to know if it is a viable option. I am a paranoid pilot, and before any substantial op I scan my entire system, putting warp disruptor bubbles on any WH (usually only a single static) and i generally choose times when the server is not very populated (pre/post downtime).
Some of my questions have been answered but some still linger so i'll ask again.
Tank: Is triage required to be able to solo tank a C4 radar site? i plan to use navy issue eanm with lvl 5 skills to boost resists.
Fighters vs sentries: I know a simple way to avoid losing drones is to recall them, but. With no weapons other than drones, each recall drastically reduces DPS, and increases the amount of time you need to maintain tank. Can fighters (with aid of cap remote reps) survive long enough to kill in a C4? I know that a cap ship can field many fighters, but can it field more than 5 regular drones?
