Marauders were made for mission running but since missions have quite a bit less loot now they are not fitted properly. To be the best mission runners now more than ever means to able to kill quickly and get the next mission. Fittings suggested are specific to a Kronos but the general theme would include all Marauders.
Cargohold reduced from 1275 to 850 Hi Slots increased from 7 to 8 Turret hardpoints increased from 4 to 5 Powergrid increased from 12000 to 12500 CPU increased from 550 to 575 Armor Thermal resistance increased from 43.12 to 51.25 Capacitor increased from 5625 to 6000
Such a ship is still too expensive to make much sense in PVP but it might also be useful in the tournaments. As it stands now, though, the Marauders are not optimized for the missions as they once were. The construction components of the ship would logically probably change as well.

In case you did read that part, think before suggesting such things, marauders would outdamage every battleship in the game. Also price doesn't mean much, there are many ppl flying faction battleships in pvp, they are more expensive than marauders.

Oh, you just want a buff to the ship's slots, grid, CPU, number of turrets, thermal resist and cap?

I have to agree with Twisted Mister. Giving marauders five slots is just too much, Lets take for example a Raven and Golem. Raven has 6 missile slots and gets a 25% bonus to RoF at level 5. So that is equivalent to having 7.5 missile launchers. Now that's ALREADY lower than the Golem which is equivalent to 8 which is 6.25% higher than the Raven. Now that's not incredibly high, but then you get the explosive velocity bonus to reduce damage to faster ships. If you add 5 launchers it will be the equivalent to 10 which is 33% higher than the 7.5 equivalent the Raven currently has, now again add your explosive velocity bonus and even the target painter bonus. Now you have a ship that is dealing 972.66 dps (with drones, 4x T2 BCU, and T2 missiles) using cruise missile. Now lets add to that the TP bonus and the EXP velocity bonus and the incredible range and lack of optimal or falloff of cruise missiles and you have an overpowered ship.Sure they have a low sensor strength, but that's not nearly enough to allow this.
Marauders are fine, they do great work on missions. If anything should be done to increase their effectiveness in missions I would lower their HP substantial and raise their resists. This would allow for an even better local tank atm, and you can use some of your new slots for another TP, damage module, web, cap mod, ECCM, SB, etc. Or you can fit an AB on your ship with the extra room to allow for faster completion of missions such as WC.
Now I'm sure their are some flaws to this, or just no need. So feel free to critique it. However, one flaw I see which may be able to be fixed would be RR in PvP. With higher resists your RR is going to provide an increased effectiveness. Imagine a group of Marauders who now no longer need as much resist mods and can fit with cap mods or something to get incredible spider tank in a gang. Or lets say they're cap is fine and last long enough, they can fit an ECCM or of the sort so ECM ships have a harder time jamming them (preventing their RR). You've now just created a very powerful PvP ship that doesn't sacrifice too much for it's capabilities.
You might be able to fix that someway if needs fixing by lowering the EHP substantially not just the HP, or providing a penalty to the ship (which I personally would leave to last resort or just not change it at all).
Anyways, please let me know what you think of my counter offer. Also, I would probably keep cargo the same though so you can use a BS with active tank and cap boosters well.

Loot changed granted but its still decent (have to work more angles than before but still some isk floating around in those wrecks). Or have a paradigm shift and jsut rush missions. Torp golem famous for this ability. torp damage already high stock...100% bonus, hot knife meet butter.
Also think outside of empire. Null sec marauders make out nice with the setup. really don't need a buff out there (have to make it fair for other ratter...already unbalanced with the damn sanctum and haven ho's in carriers lol). Rat killing, salvage and loot operations with the better rat drops out there all in one ship. They shine out there...YOu may not dig null sec, but its a great place for marauders. CCP is giving options, if not taken that is a player choice and not a game design flaw.

Actually the raven bonus doestn quite work like that. RoF bonus of 25% means it fires a missle in .75 x time it used to meaning u get
6/.75 = 8
In EFT you can see that there is no differnce in dps between the raven and the Golem with the same number of BCU's

and some fair changes for all marauders in Eve!
Also i think for that great Marauder ships CCP can design some nicer ship Model with some animated features! Like moving Radar System or some subfloor lights in diffrend Colors! no joke!

I can confirm this
But i also agree that the golem is damn nice in 1 role and that is for doing havens (angel) because of the short range the rats keep, the sanctums have rats with an orbiting range of over 40km and that is outside the range of a golem. If you were to use a golem with cruise missiles then you better go with a navy raven.
I think marauders are fine as of right now.

I say Caldari needs a T1 BS with 8 missile launcher slots and 5 low`s that u can actually buy ^^ because Raven State Issue is like a myth... someone has heard about it but noone has ever seen one :D Now that would be a perfect mission boat.

More ships should have a racing stripe thats what makes the state issue epic
