And the digging continues...
You really couldn't make this up.
So... now that patch #5 has been pulled, does that make your next hacking attempt on the live server patch #6 or patch #5 again? I'm losing count.

PLATFORM: Windows XP Professional SP3, plenty of memory, space, graphic abilities, et cetera.
First, thank the gods I didn't log in at all yesterday to even bother downloading the patch that never should have been ("aborted patch"?)...
However, new bug I've discovered while still using "patch #4" (and it's odd) is:
When using a Shield Booster mod, after using it several times during your time in single game session, it eventually stops the "cycling" animation of the white circular line. It, instead, circles once and remains a white line circle all the way around.
[And I noticed CCP is hiring again: I hope CCP is looking into programming competancy and stability as prerequisites.]

CCP bug testers are hamsters with keyboards, no wonder they don't manage to spot any errors. The current mini patch cycle is funnier than MS desperately trying to patch a flawed Win Vista when it came out and failing badly at it. CCP you fail at patches, thankyou for trying, please don't patch again.

I don't know if this is a bug but...
I overheated my afterburner, I let it take 50% damage (just for fun) but my invuln field also took damage, I think it was 25%. Is this working as intended? I didn't overheat Invulnerability field.

I'm running optional patch 4.
Yeah, working as intended. Heat from a given overheated module spreads to those modules surrounding it in the same rack (high, middle, low), albiet in a lesser amount.

For point 2: I find that, when the evemail scrambles the text, if you select a small portion and ctrx+x it repairs the mail (although not cutting what you told it to cut). You then should do ctrl+v immediately and in most cases it puts back what it cut where it cut it from and, tadaa, mail restored until the next time it scrambles.
Point 3: I find the link issue persists frequently with character names and solar systems, and only occurs randomly. Attempting the link a second time, however, typically succeeds.
On an original note, something I've noticed is that when you open up a jetcan, previously the can window would open where other jetcan windows had been moved to. This feature is no longer available, and every jetcan now opens in the middle of the screen regardless of any other factor. Essentially, window location memory for jetcans has gone away.
These are my observations.

I wrote a longish reply about this, but the forum logged me out, and I cba re-writing it. Suffice to say that your method doesn't work for me.

fail #6 .... windows still opening at default every time I open them.... stacking is not saved. and fleet window is still messed up. care for another try? nvm.... if you were serious about actually fixing it you'd have done it 5 patches ago.. or better yet..... done 10 minutes of alpha testing instead of charging your players to alpha test for you |

That's what bothers me (bothers as in: I find it preoccupying). I am a programmer myself, we have done several refactorings behind the scenes but we did not deliver a product until we'd try our stuff for 10-15 minutes and it'd show no apparent glitch.
On the contrary, it's six patches that some bugs are BLATANT if you ever play for more than 3 minutes and still they stay in the game code. IE I find it impossible that someone could not see the emails being repeatably broken by pressing ENTER or that typing mail causes an huge client responsivity drop like the CPU is at 100%. It's also quite easy to notice sounds are missing in the previous patches, all it'd take was to *play* for *few* minutes. - Auditing & consulting

Running Tyrannis 1.1 with latest patch.
There seems to be a problem with the market window. When you check the info on a particular product in a category, the "buy" and "view details" button disappear. They reappear if you reload the category. The issue appeared with the last patch. I checked with other corp members and they have the same problem.
In any case, and amidst the whole conundrum, thanks for creating and maintaining this game.

I find it kinda funny how everyone is having Issues all these times with there high powered/Quality computers but here I am with Jus barely able to run medium quality (due to processors age) and never had/having any tech or other related issues, So far eve has ran the same since it original release date. And yes I am gloating.

This is almost getting comical. Floating cargo windows are still not fixed. 1.1 broken them, a subsequent patch fixed them, then update #4 re-broke them and they've been broken ever since.
Every single floating cargo window I open while missioning opens dead center on the screen, not off to the side where I place its predecessors like the pre-1.1 version did.
Other windows do not have this problem. 'Wreck' windows behave just fine, they remember their position and stack status and remember their size. 'Floating Cargo' is a completely different story.

installed patch #6 can no longer see when modules are activated, so i can't see cycle times... minor annoyance but not the way things should run.

Another bug, more serious, this time. I trained Amarr Industrial skill to Lvl 2, with Astrogeology Lvl 5 right behind it, but the training queue jumped to Amarr Industrial Lvl 3, without training Astrogeology and without any prompt on my part. I had to close and restart the client twice to be able to make some changes to my training queue.
Thanks for maintaining this game

Already noticed that linking solar systems in a new e-mail is STILL buggered.
This started being comedy at patch #3, but it became a tragedy at patch #5.

The random Game crashes while undocking or moving around after entering mission pockets that occured with patch 3 are back.
CCP, your QA sucks these days.
I do remember better times and higher quality Patches, this is very disapointing
Lets see what "optional" Patch 7 will fix ...

The Cargo Container windows in Space are allways starting with the standart position and size and it is really annoying to move it manually to the position and size i want it.

Patch #6 First of all, being OPTIONAL do not use it if you do not need it. Using the "copy-paste" criterium it took me only a minute of gameplay to decide that I do not need it. And do not judge CCP on its optional patches but on the game[play] they offer ...

Edited by: AZENBRAKEN on 29/10/2010 18:19:34 Since downloading the optional patch 6 I have noticed that my buy and view details buttons on the market page dissapear sometimes. I click another thing to search for and then click back and they return.
This hapens about 40% of the time and mostly while scrolling down through the list.

How about some more lovelly skill points to assign for all the time weve spent beta testing your release and generally not being able to play the game cause were too busy fiddling with the UI ?

This is what I thought, so I clicked no. Which uninstalled all the previous optional patches and gave me the problems of misaligned drag and drop, windows resizing and no green corpmates etc.
How can I get all the optional patches back?

You can't.
The patches aren't really "optional". CCP are being almost deliberately misleading in their description of the consequences of refusing the latest optional patch installation.
If you refuse the latest "optional" patch, the installer removes all of the fixes in all applied patches and leaves you running the original broken 1.1 release (which had all the faults you describe). It does not leave you running the version you were previously running with some patches/fixes applied.
It's all or nothing!
Login and go to the Esc/General page and take the latest patch... it's still buggy, but hugely better than the original 1.1 release.
tl;dr; None of these updates are truely optional.

You're welcome.
Remember to login... the <esc>/general page you get before you login doesn't have the install button (though CCP may have changed that).
