Fail statement is fail.
It's a client patch that fixes stuff CLIENT side. I try to explain that to you a bit simpler.
You do not turn off all traffic lights because your car stopped in the middle of the street and needs fixing.
or
Just because your brain does not work and needs fixing you still are going to post on these forums thinking what you do post makes sense.
BM
If you think these client side patches are able to be implemented and accommodated while the server is running with no need to offline the server to allow modified clients, who am i to argue.

Hm ... what makes you think that it's not more efficient already ?

There are show-stopping problems and there are annoyances. CCP has, in the past, taken the cluster down IF there were show-stoppers discovered.
All we whine about right now does not affect game-play per se, it just annoys the heck out of us ( including me ). We still can play and fixes will be deployed. But right now, we can play.

The fixes to restore the UI need to be developed, and the server needs to be taken down as soon as they are ready to be implemented rather than waiting for downtime.

Excuse me ... what exactly is your problem that you lost 3 days of game play.
You making window arrangements for screenshots ?

Point taken, then. Though I will say I seem to have the least of issues if all I'm running into are a few of the window snap-to indicators missing and column issues in the Market and such, from the looks of the rest of this thread.
As usual, though, CCP makes a stumble while progressing forward. I look forward to when it works as intended. ---- "Sounds like a bad case of pikal envy, if you ask me."

Guess you are not aware that EVE-Online has daily downtime and that the patch today was deployed during todays and that the next will be deployed during on also, maybe tomorrow ( who knows ).

One of the more important aspects of my game play is to stay alive (its a lot easier that way and you save huge ammounts of ISK) intel chat flipping to other chat pages, increased lag when leaving stations and jumping so you can find yourself ganked and podded when you eventually get there is not my idea of being able to play

Now you are getting nearly as tedious as window tabs switching by themselves.
All im saying is that if the fix is forthcoming, i think it will be worth it for everyone nerves to get in done sooner rather than later.
If you want to wait for tomorrows downtime or who knows when, in your words, thats fine. Instead of attacking other peoples posts why not make your own saying something like;
'Hi CCP, please fix it maybe tomorrow or who knows when' and you will have accomplished everything you seem to be trying to say...

Perfect example of client side vs server side issues. Window jumping around like rabbits, not sticking into place ... client side. Lag and that resulting in ganks ... could be both, client or cluster.
While I do not agree about all the window fuzz ... I have not noticed more lag when jumping/undocking but that might be situational and if you have it ... worth letting CCP know so they can do something about it.

I think there is an option to reset windows to default positions somewhere ... hold on.
Settings - Reset Settings - press "Reset windows to default positions." Or rather the button to the right of it.
That will reset ALL your windows also, but should take care of an overly inflated Overview.

Maybe he should be able to post on the forum without getting trolled by some OCD drunkard?
intel channel doesnt need to be causing lag to get you killed, it just needs to switch to another window when important information is coming in.

Overview issues still occur from time to time! Wreck's Cargo windows are still reset every god damn time to default position. Hell it can't be that hard to fix.. Moving items is annoying since the item icon totaly overlaps the cursor.
But patching worked fine and module issues seem to have gone:)

Basically, no changes were made to UI... Windows keeps unstacking and jumping around, moreover, when you stack windows in one place, it's likely they get stacked all in some other place, i just had this case when my cargohold was partially overlapping chat frames, stacked other ship's cargohold with forst one... tried to, and they all got merged to the chat instead. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

Well, were not all drunks who wouldnt know if eve was fixed or not, or troll people on issues they know nothing about like the original patching problems that have prevented many from playing at all.
I think the vast majority would welcome an emergency DT as soon as a fix to restore normal UI can be created.
Though, no one is forcing you to do it, you can wait until tomorrows DT or "who knows" to update yours if you wish lol...

2 problems with that......
1 - do CCP know what the problems is?
2 - are they capable of fixing it?
....on current experience my answer for #2 would be possibly not.

I dont know, i cant see the UI problems being that catastrophic. Which is what makes it all the more frustrating.

If the main coders are working on other projects and this update/patch/botch call it what you will, has been done by noobs/rookies/the ones not trusted to work on the 'big' projects, then who knows what damage has been caused.
It still boils down to the fact that less than 1 hours testing would have picked up some of these problems. Suffice to say that they either did no testing, or said stuff it and still deployed the original patch knowing it was bugged.

Sure, I'd welcome an emergency downtime if a 100% fixed UI would be published. Since I do not see that happening anytime soon, the UI working so your "vast majority" would be happy, I go with patches during the daily downtime for now, that attempt ( within a 2 day timeframe ) to fix what your "vast majority" has discovered not working.
I apply logic and patience.
Sadly ... you will need to get to know EVE a lot better to understand since these are still your first few days in EVE. Play a few years :) first.
