Simple fix - enable right click -> warp to 0 on all people in local
The issue is guerilla warfare is practically impossible without cloaks due to all-seeing local. Half-baked solutions:
- ships entering system via anything other than a stargate/station do not appear in local. - Cyno generators drop a cyno at the end of the module cycle - so u have time to pop it before it lights. - Do something about having to dscan every 2 seconds. Possibly an audible warning if someone dscans you, or scan probes you. - No dscan while cloaked. - Ships while cloaked have no local (still show up in others local). - Each dscan somehow makes you easier to find even if cloaked, or prevents cloaking for a set time after scanning.

And we are back to the same thing I said in my last post (albeit dripping with sarcasm). Any ship can fit a cyno. Do you fear engaging a Kestrel because it might cyno "1000 not so wet paper bags" on top of you? I mean come on. At what point do you overcome this paralyzing fear?

afk cloaking is fine and required method of psy warfare. As discussed in those countless threads.
@OP: you must be a huge **t*rd not having noticed them and open another crap thread about the same topic.

You can hunt down and destroy an afk kestrel. Nice troll/strawman tho (got me to bite)

Edited by: Nuts Nougat on 04/10/2010 14:09:21 Since noone read my post, i'll put this here, and hope they read this. Avoiding scan probes. Nerfing cloaks will do absolutely nothing to counter afk griefing.

you could also call it "who tackled the falcon" =)
sensor strength 41.2 ;) sigradius 31m =)
it is like the perfect buddy for a few SB pilots.
edit: pity is you cant squeeze a expanded probe launcher on it to drop some combat probes once in a while.
btw: am I the only one that jumps into wh/lowsec/0.0 systems and drops some combat probes for fun and then jumps out?

Hahaha awesome. I had a fleet stabber similar to this before nano nerf, where the main issue our fleets had were falcons. It had 68 sensor strength I think. Took 20 seconds to get on top of that 200km falcon, and then another 10 to make it dead. ECCM had no effect back then though, so they had no idea what's going on.
What makes these ECCM'd interceptors scary is the fact that even while mwding, it still cannot be probed out, so you can create a rolling safe for an entire fleet with almost zero risk for everyone as long as they keep spamming warp, since enemies can't land in front of said fleet.
In the previous post I was just trying to put a point across that one doesn't need more than 15mil to put together a ship that is completely immune to being probed out, and thus nerfing cloaks to protect against afk griefing makes no sense. It'll just nerfed an intended ship class feature, while doing hardly anything against afkers

Well, you're not the only one anymore now! What's awesome, they stay up for a whole hour! ---

Best thing CCP can do is to show a POP UP window on any client being more than 15 min inactive.
If the pop up is not cliked. The clients is logged out.
Simple and ease.

no, because afk cloaking is fine and required.

well it can be probed out while mwding. the unprobable thingie only works without the mwd running.
one might check how good you can get it with implants/factionmwds.
i think the faction mwds have lower sigradius penalties. throw in some sensor strength implants and instinct boosters and it might still work. though no time to try it to today.

I agree that Cloaking is way overpowered rigth now and need to be look at. Not the covert ops - but the rest.
What i would like to see was
1) Cycle time of 30 min 2) Reaktive delay of 5 min - 1 min for covert ops (or even 5 sek ). Reactive delay reset when swiching systems/docking.
That would give the other side a way to figh - but you could still cloak up and wait out the aggression timer, and you can still scout any pos/gate/station. And still use the cloak when real life kicks in ( like wife agro ).
you can still grief all you like - but you need to go warp 2 times an hour for a covert ops that will be no problem at all since you can make a tons of safe-spots while you still are cloaking.
But it will hit Cloaking Titans ( are they still in use ? ),Super Carriers - but honest they can jump out and should have support with them anyway. 30 Min should covert the time to recharge the cap for a jump out. Tech 1 BS/BC'es will get hit by this - but that is the ones i think is a bad missfit with cloaks.
