Umm... Guys?
Your hat seems to have a better economy, lower crime rate, more natural resources, free health care for decades, jumped in to every world war before you, burnt down your first Whitehouse and has better beer higher up!

Come to Norway for Beer:
- 10-12 dollar for a beer in pubs and up to 15 in some restaurants - 5-6 dollar for imported beer, like Kilkenny and guinnes in stores - 3-4 dollar for Norwegian made

Fixed that for you. It's a little obscure and a pain in the arse to find sometimes but definitely the best. But anyway, regardless of what I said before this, you should remember that only about 1 in 20 of my posts have any real purpose. |

Erdinger is good, not tried the others. I was sucking back some good old english ale last night. A bit of Brakspear's Oxford Gold, McEwan's Champion (ok it's Scottish but it's also 7.5% and tasty), Wychwood's Wychcraft (their pale ale; not great, stick to the dark stuff) and Wychwood's Goliath.

Speaking of beer, being American is highly annoying when it comes to worldwide beer culture.
At one time, thanks to European immigrants, the United States had some of the best beer in the world. Unfortunately, Prohibition and the Great Depression gave birth to pale, watery sorts of beers (Miller Lite, Busch, etc.) that became ultra-popular and have given us a bad reputation internationally.
Despite this, in recent decades good American beer has made a real comeback.

I prefer Guinness when I drink a beer. Not that I really drink much of it anymore, but once in a while its awesome --- "And thus, another of the world's dreamers died, taking his dreams with him. The USA make and drink some fine spirits, and their wines tends to be OK for what they are. More generally, U.S. Americans tend to want decent 'stuff', and if they aren't making it themselves are happy to buy imports, such as with cars and motorbikes. They want the biggest/best/strongest, and aren't going to accept inferior crap
In that context, I really don't get why the USA generally (excluding your metro-sexual microbrewery drinkers) tends to make and drink indistinguishable **** weak alco-carbo-water 'beer'?
For me, Hook Norton is my local Brewery/Pub in the UK. Which beer depends on the time of year, and how late I can stay in bed the next day. Their Christmas brew is good, and not too crazy like some of the other local breweries, who put out 7 or 8+ % Christmas beers.
I'm mostly in Ireland atm, where the lager taps have dust on them. Everyone drinks Guinness, and maybe with a shot of Jameson's. The herd instinct is crazy strong in Ireland (they all look and dress the same to), but in the 'summer' I join the crazy young rebels in drinking bottles of Bulmers cider with a glass full of ice
