Download evemon you can get it from battleclinic, set it up getting your limited API key and make a skill plan to pilot an Orca.
http://evemon.battleclinic.com/ Check out the many loadouts submitted through battleclinic and available through evemon's loadout option pick one or two that look like what you'll use the orca for, hauling/mining support, mobile oppression and add those skills.
If you don't understand the skills by all means look them up and see if you really want to train them, same goes for the modules/rigs in the loadouts you might not want to go with the exact setup someone else made so do your research.
--Submit your bug reports via mental telepathy this will streamline CCP ignoring them.-- |

There's quite a few, two of the most important to be really effective will be Cybernetics V and Warefare Link Specialist, to your desired level, to use and improve the efficiency off the Mining Foreman Mindlink.
Obviously all the prerequisites for the ship itself, but also consider training up drone skills so that the miners in your fleet can use mining drones and you keep the rats off their back.

Leadership skills (Mining Foreman etc.) and ability to use a tractor beam and the obvious engineering etc. support skills. That's about it. ____________________________

space ship command 5 advanced spaceship command 1 leadership 1 mining foreman 5 mining director 1 (to fly ship) mining director 3 (to use fleet booster modules) industrial command ship 1 (each level boosts the cargo bay size and fleet boosts amount) ------- not necessary but recommended good shield tanking (all to at least level 4) science 4 (for tractor beams) jury rigging 3 astronautic rigging 1 (to fit cargo rigs)

I've heard some terifying rumors that the Orca will in future only be able to hold mining craft in its bays.
Anyone confirm or deny this travesty?

Leadership V so you can use mining foreman links. Mining Director (As much as you can, at least level IV) Warfare Link Specialist.
And of course shield Tanking skills.

Edited by: Misanthra on 05/10/2010 03:10:16 If looking to support any mission runners in any way (your alts, friends, corps, etc)...might want to load up on the leadership warfare skills and the links for them. My orca alt a decent fleet booster. Even if not in the orca, I'll launch the alt in dessie to spin around a moon and have her boost a fleet with the runner I have. Comes in to clean up rooms once population down a bit and the runner's bs has everyones attention.
Orca pilots a good choice for this imo....they need the leadership anyway, jsut some more skill learning for non mining stuff.
