Hello Capsuleers,
Earlier this summer we started sending out emails to our PayByCash customers informing them that we would be phasing out PayByCash as a payment option, with three emails being sent to approximately 2,000 users who used PayByCash as a payment option. On Saturday, September 26, 2010 we completed the phasing out of the PayByCash option.
Several of you have requested more information about the removal of this payment option. PayByCash would inform us through a specially-created system when a PayByCash customer created a transaction with the service, and our system would automatically add the play time to the customerĘs account. Because we do not initiate the transaction directly, we could not verify the transaction nor that those fees had been paid to PayByCash.
There are several ways in which you can pay for your EVE Online subscription. This page provides specific details on how to use credit/debit cards, EVE Online game time cards, PLEX, PaySafeCard and Paypal to manage your subscription payments.

The rage seems to be over at this point. All the people who used this method and missed that email informing them of the change stopped making threads already.

Threads like these tend to revive rage. This effect is not exclusive to EVE. Ive seen on the Worl....err....another popular MMO's forums before.

I like to think they got on with their lives and put it behind them, but you're probably right.

Most of those people who didn't get the memo probably aren't subbed anymore so can't make any further threadnoughts.

The only reason I've used PayByCash in the past was that EVE didn't had WMTransfer option. Since they have implemented it, all is well and PBC is no more. No to mention it's crazy fees. I think, PayPal and WMT covers majority of the world with electronic transactions. If you know country, where either of them are unavailable, I'd like to hear.... for academical purposes. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

I'm pretty sure this is code for "People could start a transaction with PayByCash, never finish it and thus never pay, and PayByCash wouldn't tell us till our next billing cycle with them". If PayByCash were unwilling or unable to stop this neat little 'get your account for free for a few days' hole, I think cutting them off was probably for the best.

I hope it was about the money, and not about ability to trace customers and link account to real world name.
