Sounds like the ATI white pointer complaint. Just have to wait it out I suspect. Or get a Geforce.

Yes, This new bug exist since Tyrannis I think.
This is a ATI compatibility issue in Wine or EVE but not in the ATI drivers.
The ATI proprietary driver AND the two Opensource drivers are effected, So I personally don't think that the problem is in ATI/Drivers because was not existent in Apocrypha era and three completely different drivers have exactly the same "bug".
Maybe CCP added a new cursor icon and it is rendered differently than the other (transparency issue, who know?). Only one or two cursor from the different set of cursor have this bug.

That is EXACTLY what they did.
This bug affects ONLY the new "HERE BE A R-CLICK MENU RAWR!" mouse pointer, so it seems like they did something funky with the transparent layer that they didn't do for the others.
No way of knowing WHAT without haxxing the files and extracting the mouse doodad, which I think might be a tad illegal! Originally by: ElfeGER you could create a bugreport for wine on this page
It's not a Bug In wine though, It is a bug in EVE, since all the other icons work fine.

Is CCP aware of this? Did ever someone report it to a GM or through another channel? Does the problem also persist on the test server?

CCP doesnt cover linux support so they will not do anything with the report, make a bug report in wine

Edited by: Publius Victrix on 12/11/2010 23:00:25 It's not strictly an ATI bug. It's an interaction with Wine. About half the time I'm running Eve under Wine on my iMac, because it's traditionally be far more stable than under Cider, and I had that bug for a time. A recent upgrade of Wine eradicated it. I forget what I had before, but moving to 1.3.6 fixed it.
I say it's not an ATI bug because I experienced this with an nVidia GeForce 8800 GS.
I should note that yesterday's update reversed the stability situation. Wine crashed at least four or five times, and not just on the expected session changes. I went back to Cider and it's only crashed on me once since yesterday.
