Conveniently ignoring that CCP has been wanting to do this since EVE was conceived.
Except, that's not completely true because the original plans (pre-2006) for Ambulation/walking-in-stations/Incarna included PVP. Original dev posts even said they wouldn't implement walking-in-stations until it was fully fleshed out and included PVP.

I wasn't aware that immersion was a bad thing to have in a game.

How do you make more money? Make the game appeal to the wider (and truly pathetic) MMO market.
And pray tell, do you _know_ what the community wants? Me personally, I want walking in stations, more PvE content, more group and raid PvE content. I want roaming POSes, POSes in WH space, anti blob/gate camp changes. I want to be able to buy Attribute Remap Coupons either with PLEXs or ISK.
We forum dwellers need to learn, we are a very minor though very vocal part of the larger community. Most of my corp doesn't give crap about half of what is generally considered "majority" opinion.

Not insane, but apparently far, FAR too sarcastic for you. I hear the Department of Missing the Point has an opening for a new VP, I think you'd be PERFECT for the job.
The mechanics in EVE and WoW both have something called "mining". That doesn't make those mechanics at all the same. I gather ore in Settlers of Cataan - does that mean EVE and Settlers are alike because I "gather ore" in both games?
It's an idiotic comparison. Are they both online games with lots of players? Yes. Do they both have an activity called "mining"? Yes. Do the two activities have anything at all in common? Only in the most superficial sense, and even that's being far too generous.
Are there actual similarities to the games? Sure. But listing completely dissimilar activities based on the same concepts does nothing to contribute to a discussion of those similarities, and makes us all dumber for having to read it.

Funny, you keep on hammering on small differences and completely ignore my list of huge similarities and differences with RL. It's like saying motorcycle A and B are very different and comparing them is the same as saying they're the same as a car.
But if you insist on living in your own little world ..

Sorry, didn't read every post, so excuse me if this has already been stating in some form or another.
The constant fear that Eve is evolving into a WoW type MMO on these forums is beyond bizzare. Adding full body avatars, and incursions (dungeons) doesn't make this game WoW at all, and doesn't mean that CCP is selling out to the masses. I think their just trying to make the game better. Sure, implementation isn't always going to be flawless, and there are still lots of areas that need fixing, but I for one can't wait for some of the new content that CCP aims to deliver.
It's interesting how much discontent you can see on these forums. Funny thing is that you don't see it very often in the in-game chat, and still the majority of forumers are clever, funny, upbeat, and even informative. But there is a small minority of forumers that just take all of their frustrations out on CCP by ranting on the forums.

Auto-piloting from Berta to Hek ... thought I'd chime in.
WoW v EvE reminds of Coors v Andechs <-- 800 yo German monastery/brewery.
Coors is a technically excellent beer, emphasis on technically. It is brilliantly clear, has no objectionable characteristics, and can be produced to a uniform flavor profile by using so many different hop varieties that nobody can tell what the heck is actually in it, and is available in every city in the US of A.
Andechs is a technically excellent beer, emphasis on excellent. It is brilliantly clear, has fantastic characteristics, and varies from harvest to harvest even though those wily monks do their best to keep it consistent. AFAIK, Andechs brews are only available at the monastery, along with schweinshaxe (Harr!!!).
I will credit WoW for providing the most excellent PvE experience I have ever had, but I was in one of the oldest raiding guilds in the game. Team work = max. Challenge = max. Personal accountability = max. Motivation to be first to accomplish something = max. Simultaneously, "Barbie Doll" play styles seemed to be rampant among the bulk of the players, and were so very far from end-game content capability. Oh well.
Enter EvE. Barbie Dolls die. EvE is only available in one place on the planet Earth.
In my mind, you can't compare the two. EvE will never be WoW as long as entering low/null sec means either, you better be prepared, or be prepared to die.
Think I'll have a beer...
