I had hoped this bond would get a little more traction by today. With flakeys pulling out I'm left thinking that there just isn't enough in the way of public funds floating around lately to really put together a big bond like this.
I'm still going to run this bond, but I'll have to settle for it being a much smaller offering. I think I'll close block one and send out collection requests later tonight at whatever size it is. I'll leave block two open for a while and allow any further investors a chance to join in.
This has still been a very fun first dip into public offerings.

Edited by: RAW23 on 10/10/2010 19:56:08 Could you confirm the conditions under which block one will be running? Will the amount of collateral remain the same despite the block being smaller? If so, I would be interested in increasing my investment somewhat. Also, is there a rough timeframe that you are aiming to run the bond over (edit - just checked the OP and saw 1-2 months - is this still the aim and will there be a cut off for closing out the bond)?

I'm not going to decrease my collateral. I wouldn't sell it off yet anyway so no harm done leaving it where it's at.
Two months is the limit of this bond as it stands. I don't anticipate holding all assets until the last day of two months but, naturally, the exact details of my selling process are remaining strictly confidential. If Technetium is showing promise at the end of two months and I would like to extend the bond offering I will approach bond holders about an optional extension plan with new terms.

Sounds good. On the condition that you close the block tonight I'll increase my investment to 5bil.

Flakeys has made a sound reasoning imho. The "sentiment" is that big changes in the price could be next, the undisputed, bump free rise to the sky has dried up. The market ATM is in "I don't have an idea about what to do next" mode and this immediately mirrors in investors sentiment.
In theory, the market would either rise and form an "head" (there's still at least 25k of room left for price to rise) but if enough Flakeys retract from the market, price will just start ranging / readying up for double top like Robotics is doing ATM.

Edited by: flakeys on 11/10/2010 07:49:18 When i said it had nothing to do with the offer i meant it VV.
The reason i pulled out is simple. In my investments i made a few rules from the start. Most of those rules kept me off of big scams as the simple rule don't invest in reputations unless i invested with them from the start , Raw23 is one of those. It's how i kept from BB , curzon dax and other big scams.
The ground rule was as soon as i hit a scam -and yih didn't count for me as i expected the loss before i sent isk- i would quit.It looks like one of my investments for 3 bille has gone MIA.As such i will not invest any more and only keep my running investments going for the time agreed with those individuals when the investment took place.
In short , thank you raw23 , cista2 , julian kol , john holt , AC155 , proton power , info specialist , varo jan and numerous others since i don't feel like searching them all for a year of investments. At over 50 Bille + returns i am calling it a day and closing investments.Time for me to get back to work myself and dive into speculattion business.

Imo the market is pretty clear on what it is doing at the moment. The dips are direct responses to attempts to make the market do exactly what it is doing. Those in for the medium to long term can see clearly what is going on and are enjoying taking advantage of it, rebuying on the dips. The reason that people are trying to force the market down at this point is precisely because they have confidence in the viability of the higher prices. It is taking deliberate efforts by stacks worth a combined 60-70bil isk to move this market down. That tells you something about its intrinsic strength.
Edit @flakeys - will work on luring you back. It's pretty amazing that you have only been hit by one scam in all you investments over a year and a half but we (and by we I mean I!) still need you here. I would say I hope you get burned in speculation if you weren't speculating on the same things as me

I'm not going to run out and buy 16b isk of Technetium the day this bond closes. It would be to easy to manipulate the market in the short term to try and trap me. I suppose there is less risk of this now then if I had reached 60b, but I'm sticking to my plan regardless.
Just to remind you VV this bond, from an investors side, really has nothing to do with Technetium. If takes a loss that loss is mine alone. If Tech rises adequately those profits are mine alone. This is a fixed return with adequate collateral to absorb a serious dip in the price of Technetium.

This bond has been closed and all investors have been paid. I have not put out a call for investors to confirm they received payment, but if any of my investors see this thread and feel like confirming it wouldn't be bad for posterity.
For the record this bond earned 7% on Technetium but required an interest payment of 12%, causing me a 5% loss on 16b isk.
