There is a real problem if people opt to forgo a 25% bonus , and sometimes a 45 to 50% bonus to hybrid damage to fit auto cannons.
If they were balanced it should be a toss up decision between the two with NO bonuses.. .if it makes sense to fit autocannons forgoing the bonuses thats a sign that the hybrids need a huge boost in their ablity to do damage in typical situations... I don't know if thats a damage boost, a tracking boost or as some have suggested a speed boost to gallente ships (but that would do far mroe than increase blaster damage.. in potentially unbalancing ways).
I'd boost the optiml range of blasters by about 35% and the fall off anouther 20%. and increase tracking 10% . Hybrids need about a 20% damage buff to make up for poor damage, high miss rate compared to missles, and lack of flexiblity in damage types.

20%+ increase in damage, up to 5% increase in tracking at most.
hack off any kind of range you want to. I don't mind point blank weapons that do overwhelming damage. I do mind point blank weapons that virtually the same damage as some other weapons that have over 3x their optimal.
oh and the speed boost? no. not speed boost. at least not directly.
the way to make gallente ships more mobile is to shave their mass and increase their agility.
same treatment can be applied to plates. ---

I have no idea what you're talking about. Gallente ships *without* hybrid bonuses are widely flown with projectile weapons (this much is obvious from market data and popular loadouts), but rarely are projectiles fitted to a weapon bonus'd ship.
I would also like to point out that gallente blaster boats are more popular than amarr ships in lowsec (nullsec ofc is massively skewed toward amarr and to a lesser extent minmatar - excluding cap ships).
I guess what i'm trying to say is "no, they don't."

Originally by: Hanz Landou In-fact i've found a rather shocking upward trend in the value of gallente pvp characters in the last months that is not mirrored in caldari or amarr (although minmatar are clearly ahead in character sales by a good margin for this quarter).
Just seems like gallente are actually more valuable than they are letting on.
It's so easy to get a SC these days. And Nyx is so awesome
