Yep - what happened to the old adage of KISS? Keep it simple, stupid.
No surprise that this fellow is a 9/11 truther as well.

Not surprising you're incapable of thinking for yourself, and live your life in a consensus trance.

The idea we have everything figured out and there are no more secrets is anathema to science. Science is a long series of corrected mistakes.
Except that you try to find out why something in particular happens ONLY IF the current theory doesn't accurately describe everything you observe happening. Having something explained perfectly yet still trying to invent some reason without any experimental evidence to back your doubts up only for the sake of looking for a different theory... that's not science. I don't even know what to call that. Anything but science anyway.
In particular, for this situation, if you'd STILL be able to draw power out of those wires when the phone company disconnects their power source from the lines, now that would be a good enough reason to investigate further.
Side-note: " The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not ôEurekaö but ôThatÆs funny...ö " --Isaac Asimov

I think it's called "alexjonism" but I might be wrong

I think you missed how i accepted his evidence when he got around to presenting it. Couldn't have possibly guessed what he meant by his first vague comment. And i also never said anything definite about phone lines in the first place, just offered what first came to mind as a possibility.
Stop trying to make strawmen here. All these things you're accusing me of don't apply.

The fact you EVENTUALLY accepted you were wrong about that particular issue was irrelevant for the portion of the discussion where you complained about my particular brand of sarcasm, implying it would be contrary to good scientific practices, and yet still it is the only thing you focused on from my entire reply, in spite of it being a mere exemplification of what I was pointing out above it.

Wasn't a matter of me arguing anything and eventually agreeing. I had no idea what he was on about just saying something was wrong, with everything i previously said. I assumed he was talking about the idea of radiant energy affecting antennas, which i linked to in response, then later found out what he was talking about, and agreed with him. It's a non situation, and you guys are trying to stir up drama by making it into something it wasn't.

Quote: It's when people just accept whatever it is the majority around them believes as true, instead of thinking it through and coming to a decision of their own. A good example is hypnosis, when people are in that suggestive state they often believe anything they're told by the only other person around them and don't question it.
But don't worry about that stuff. Some people are just born to follow the herd. No sense trying to fight your instincts.
Oh, I get it. I'm sheeple. lol
Hey, just because I like provable, verifiable facts and perceive reality from them - doesn't make me sheeple.
But it's ok, you want to seem smart so you believe in something that could conceivably be true but has no facts to back it up. You dismiss people who disagree with you and provide facts on their side as 'sheeple' without explaining why they are wrong. You argue with questions, never answers.
You think it's elitism and you partially define yourself by it - however in reality it's simply egoism and it's usually borne of feelings of inferiority.
That will be $125.
Leave a cheque with the hot receptionist and we'll see you next week? bye bye now

And here you keep going about that irrelevant piece of talk we already finished talking about. We were already talking about what constitutes "science". _

Unless you are an experienced technician don't try this at home.
Also, as it has already been mentioned, you can't hope to feed your industrial grade hair dryer via the phone line.
A much more dangerous (yet easier) way to steal energy (beacue it is stealing) is to hover a contactless current collector near an electric line. Obviously you can't do it in most cities, certainly not in most downtown areas but in uptown and in the countryside it's commonplace to have electric pylons near roads, sometimes even near houses.
But it can be dangerous, just saying.
