The time has come once again for change. In the pursuit of our cause we have brought about, witnessed, and endured many changes. Some have been trials, others blessings, and nearly all necessities.
Years ago the Ushra'Khan set foot in Providence with a simple mission; to oppose Amarrian expansion in the region. The winds have shifted over the years in favour of one side or another, at first the conflict was held in balance, but in time the slaver gained the upper hand. Throughout this time we were there, harrying Amarrian Providence while we sought to build our strength and gather allies. At last, early this year, the tide was turned and Amarrian Providence, the CVA's Operation Deliverance, was broken.
The change came swiftly and in truth presented a new and difficult challenge. For our part in the campaign and liberation, we found ourselves in uncharted political waters. Having torn down the Amarrian order, we were faced with a power vacuum. Together with Against All Authorities we began to establish a new Providence, a necessary task if the slaver were to be kept out.
For much of this year that task has consumed us. Pacts, deals and treaties to broker, entire star systems to govern and lines on a map, drawn and re-drawn. Nation building was not our original goal, but over the years Providence has changed and grown, so it became an inescapable necessity.
Nearly three months ago the Ushra'Khan was betrayed by one of its own and systematically dismantled from within. This event was to begin a vicious cycle that is still ongoing. The alliance quickly reformed under the new Damu'Khonde banner and set to work re-establishing itself. But there would be repercussions, of course. There is great stigma attached to such an incident among we Capsuleers, and few alliances have ever survived such a grievous blow. This sent ripples throughout the regions political structure and disrupted the fledging new order.
Almost three months on, and much has changed. The politics of the region have continued to evolve, and while the Damu'Khonde survived its traumatic birth, it has changed greatly for it. And the reasons for that stem from the history I spoke of before.
The Ushra'Khan entered Providence to combat slaver expansion. Earlier this year that goal was achieved. Today, Providence is under new rule, and a new order. Our work is all but done, yet here we remain. We have been coming to the conclusion that it is time for change yet again. We are releasing control of all our Providence holdings to neighbours, allies or other custodians. Our mission is not one of carving out empires, and with the events of recent months we think that the time has come to give Providence over to its new residents entirely. It is time, for us to leave.
We shall go to the Great Wildlands, we remain a predominantly Minmatar organisation and believe that it is time to once again be closer to our people. We shall continue our mission from there, or moving as our needs dictate to fight where our pilots see fit. Be it in the pursuit of old foes who have crossed our path, or into the heart of Amarr itself. We have debts to repay, and our cause beckons.
It is time, to wander free once again.

Very well put...however you are spinning the story completely. Basically a significant number of the current residents in Providence don't like you and drove you out. Why else would you fight to defend your systems? You can't win so you've come up with a post of half truths and spin. I would of remained silent, but I think the honest thing to do here is paint a full picture of the situation...In other words, you aren't interested in being landlords because you have no power or strength to enforce the rule of law now that -A- is melting.
In regards to your statement about the 'betrayal' causing issues with your alliance. I remember reading all the posts about how this betrayal pulled the alliance together. In fact many statements about dozens of inactives returning to the game to show support.
Good luck in your future endeavours. I'm sure you all will bounce back from this tragic defeat.

I think that I have acknowledged the turbulent politics of Providence already. And I have acknowledged that the events following that betrayal have had significant impact upon our alliance.
We have seen a number of old faces come back to us, and also many depart, some of whom I'd agree as a direct result of -A-'s fall and the threat of invasion. Many of those people were the ones who wanted to remain in Providence long term.
I do not deny that that we have had problems lately, I referred to them in general already. Describing the creation of the Damu'Khonde as 'traumatic' is hardly sugar coating.
We are finding our feet again and getting back to our path. This is but part of that process, warts and all.

They say you should do what you excel at and admit defeat when defeat is upon you. To do so is a sign of class and will earn you respect. A lesson perhaps others should follow after you.
I've spent much time speaking to pilots in your alliance unsuccessfully trying to bring them into the light and most agree that Providence has always been like an invisible chain keeping you as bound as the people you think you are trying to save. Perhaps now you will feel some of that "freedom" you were trying to achieve and give up your ways of terrorism and piracy.
I certainly hope so and I wish you the very best of luck out there as best as one warrior to her bitter enemy can.

We stepped up as 'landlords' as we believed it was best for the new Providence, not for our own pockets. We had a vision for the region, and wanted to see how it would turn out. That vision was not reliant on our personal power, but the cooperation of Providence as a whole, with the idea being that together we would be stronger than we would alone. In practice, fractures appeared when land land was disputed, and factions formed as a result, weakening Providence as a whole.
Originally by: Jock Landers In regards to your statement about the 'betrayal' causing issues with your alliance. I remember reading all the posts about how this betrayal pulled the alliance together. In fact many statements about dozens of inactives returning to the game to show support.
The issues were more logistical than personal. We lost our JB network and means of both safe and rapid deployment across Providence. We lost established standings with both local and more remote associates, all of which needed rectifying. Whilst we were dealing with these issues, other Providence residents made deals with forces significantly larger than ourselves, which in turn kept us on the back foot. In addition, fighting elsewhere in the universe kept some Provi members focussed elsewhere, further diminishing our combined strength to hold off the attackers. During all of this, the bonds between the core of the alliance have not been broken, but have instead been made stronger. We have a number of inactive people returned to the alliance and despite a few corporations moving on to new ventures, the alliance as a whole still has plenty of life left in it. We are all behind this new direction, and are eagerly looking forward to life closer to our Minmatar comrades.

Your Amarrian loyalist regime in Providence was dismantled. The multitude of slaves held there while your alliance oversaw the region have been evacuated safely, all but the few who chose to stay. So who is it that your God favours?

OK, I have to ask...So whos will was it that gave us the strength of will to fight back against Amarrian bondage after 700 years? Was it...wait for it...wait for it...god?
Don't bother trying to answer. IF you say it was "god's will" then your admitting that "god" cares about the "Minmatar heretics" as much as he does " the Faithful Amarr.
IF you say it wasn't then you will imply that the will of the Matari people is greater than your "god's", then you would be a heretic yourself.

Their fictional God is a capricious and flighty creature apparently, hence it's easy to explain away victory as His Will and defeat as A Test. How wonderfully convenient, never any need for introspection.

No more convenient, lap-dog, than justifying a slave-holder as a "caretaker" or oppression as "god's will".

We were never the ones trying to build or extend an empire, that was your motivation, slaver. With the evacuation of the freed complete there we have few ties left to the region, time to sell up and move on.

So at worst we are, slaver and slave-kin alike, hypocrites and liars. This is an old line of debate.
Relevant to the topic, it is obviously good news for CVA to hear than an enemy is moving out of our scope of influence. I can (slanderously) attribute this to standard 0.0 political dogma, I can (falsely) attribute it to any hand CVA may have had...or I can attribute it to God. I choose God.
It is, after all, a terribly comfortable lap.

Sorry as I'm a bit confused. The only reason you planned to hold Providence was to free the slaves? Didn't UK/DK do that months ago. If that's the case then why all the effort to defend "your" space. If that is truly your motive for leaving Providence as you indicated in your post. I'm sorry to be questioning you, but please understand that this seems to be a sidestepping of admitting defeat.
If CVA and allies leadership were asked as to why they left Providence, would they state we left because God told us to (rhetorical)? I imagine they would say they were spanked by the combined forces of the Southern Coalition and pushed out.
I just respect people more if they state the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. This is spin similar to what you get with lesser organizations. You guys are better than that, and an honorable alliance. Don't tarnish your name at this point. Just man up and say, "yes, we were driven out, and the Providence experiment failed."

"If you wait long enough, you'll see that through pure chance I'll end up being right at least once eventually." Eternity is a long time to wait and see wether your god truly rules. But if you want, we can arrange a confirmation/denial of your "truth" a lot swifter. Just lower that transversal a bit.
More on topic, I'm curious what the future holds for us next. The past nine months have been quite the rollercoaster, we have had magnificent victories and tremendous loss. We've lost brothers (and sisters ) through our hardships, but also forged a deeper bond amongst those that went through it with us. I hope the coming months will be less tumultuous, so we can enjoy the return to our roots in proper form.

You think we can evacuate all those slaves overnight? We have had brave transport pilots ferrying people back to their homeland since we first set foot in Providence. Now that all those who wish to be saved have been carried to safety, our work here is complete. We see no sense in needlessly throwing away the crews of ship after ship when it does nothing to further the welfare of our people.

Combine the evacuation of millions of slaves with the making sure the CVA doesn't attempt things in Providence, and you have the reasons you need.
This stuff takes time, I don't belive for one second that the forces of the Slaver is beaten, weakened yes, but beaten.... Probably not in a long shot.
We'll be around to stop your every attempt at Providence, Slaver... But for now... New adventures!

As I said in my opening statement, following the liberation of Providence from its Amarrian overlords, there existed a power vacuum. If we had simply walked away right then, things would have quickly returned to how they had been before. Something had to be created in its place.
At that time, there was a sizeable number within the alliance that felt we should remain as part of that new structure. As time went on and events unfolded, that group grew smaller and smaller, until we reach the point where we are now. Most of those that desired a long term presence in Providence had left, our original mission was complete and a new set of residents were in place, and we were increasingly finding that our efforts were being sunk into local politics rather than our core mission of liberation.
Combine those factors together and it is clear that it is time to change direction. The entity that we came to fight no longer holds sway, it has been replaced by something we helped build but no longer feel that we should be part of.
As to why we did we defend our space? Because it was ours, and what kind of a man rolls over to let another simply take it from him? Of course we fought for it, that's what free men do.

To be percise is a rather new alliance so we didn't earn much respect yet - i guess. And i am very glad you tell us how our friends and foes think about us and spare them the time to express their opinion themselfes.
Just to be sure your saying we stayed in Provi, because -A- told us to ? Well, ok imagine that was true and we actually didn't want it in the first place - HOW did -A- get us to take that space if we would have prefered no space ? Or are you saying we didn't even know that we did not want this space ? If so, how can you tell that we are now leaving on our own will and not because -A- tells us that we want to ? Now i am confused, because i am not sure anymore if i type this because I want or because -A- wants me to do it ... or perhaps it is you wanting -A- to want me to write this !?
Oh and since i am philosophical, i think the closest thing to God anyone of us will probably ever experience is ISK - or something you can buy with it ... i once had this gallente "lady's companion" and believe me she made you think she were a goddes ... or atleast feel like in heaven - if you know what i mean :) If you want, i can tell you where to find her - or if the one that might control your thoughts wants you to want that ...
