Edited by: Blood Anarchist on 17/10/2010 00:37:54 what python editor does ccp use? do they have one that they made for their purposes, or do they use a public editor? if ccp uses a public editor, which do they use?
i did not direct this question at ccp because i dont think they will answer it, although that would be nice.

I don't work for CCP, but I've done a lot of Python (~10 years now) and I've always used vim. Emacs would make a great OS if only it came with a decent editor.

I personally use Komodo and it's quite awesome for it's intellisense and debugger.

I like IDEs over editors, I've used vim ALOT for sysadmin work because your in a shell most of the time.
On the IDE side I prefer:
- PyDev on Eclipse (free) - Wingware's Python IDE (not free)
NetBeans is nice too and can work with Python.

Yeah, why would they only include a sucky editor like vim by default... Some day emacs will get things right.

Most of us use Textpad. There are a few strays that use vim.

I don't see how you can think that it's a good idea for us to have tech thieves with tech disabling weaponry rampaging around CCP offices and the server cluster.

Wooooo,
Never heard of Sublime before till you mentioned it. Absolutely love the minimap view. Wonder if ZenCoding completely supported.
