Though I spend most of my time lately playing games, reading and obsessing over my growing collection of small arms, I still occasionally undock when the Republic needs something taken care of. I fell away from my former alliance as the one-sided battles (as in, the side I wasn't on) were causing me too much stress. There's something strangely distressing about the whole having my body destroyed and my mind dropped into something modestly resembling a Human, over and over, with no way to know how much of myself I've really lost in the process each time. Not least of all I ran myself into the ground fiscally and was responsible for a total of 1370 deaths by failing to keep the carefully regulated atmosphere on the inside of my hulls.
I suppose I've gotten over all that and now it's the lack of peers that's putting me on edge. I'm in the unfortunate position of seeing non-capsuleers as some distant group I can no longer relate with.
So, I offer myself to whoever wants me so long as they're company I find favorable. I'll warn you now, I'm lazy, only have about half a billion in ISK and property and seldom have the desire to soak myself in a pod without good reason. However, I do follow orders in fleet and am willing to relocate as needed. Just don't, you know, call me in the middle of a nap expecting me to rush out and shoot something without protest. ------------------------------- The fox chases for her meal, but the rabbit runs for her life. |

Sabbott, you lecherous old Amarrian pig, why don't you find one of your own kind to perv on? I know the typical Amarrian hag like Silas or Spyra would require most men to be drunk and even then need a bag over her head before you could sleep with her but, honestly. Have you no shame at all? Is this the way you Blooders "recruit" now?
Disgusting. This is low even for a Blooder.
What you want is irrelevant. What you've chosen is at hand. |

I am not interested in being your toy or a tool for the Sani Sabik to perpetuate its campaign of forcing people into a kind of mental slavery that makes the entirety of the Amarr empire blush. I ask that you cease your provocations; you will never have me and my contempt for the Sani Sabik is absolute. ------------------------------- The fox chases for her meal, but the rabbit runs for her life. |

Aphoxema, Your title caught my attention & yes I want you, Marie Trudeau so many years back sent me those images of your stunning beauty that have stuck in my mind, you are like a butterfly in the wind, fragile & beautiful ...yet strong at the same time, its something I find pleasing, but seeing you view us unfavorable, its unfortunate.. best of luck in the path you choose.

Complicated, to say the least. I fear they've lost their identity since they were founded and though I can respect the underdog I can no longer be the underdog. There was a time I hated the Republic as much as any other of the empires but I guess I've found my roots since then. I've even come to find the Federation easy to appreciate, the State easy to respect, and the Empire easy to pity.
Originally by: Ugleb You may have come to the wrong place.
I'm confident that somewhere on the IGS axis is a group who can both accept me and I can wave a flag for. If not that, then I know of no other neutral ground to stand on. If not even that then I'm at least happy for the conversation with someone other than the young, arrogant graduates of my intern corporation who still see a million ISK as a significant amount of money. ------------------------------- The fox chases for her meal, but the rabbit runs for her life. |

I already have identity and a sense of agency. What I lack is the comfort of like-minded peers. Capsuleers are something else, they're broken in a way that non-Capsuleers can't emulate. Crew and captains can't imagine the true depth of being the vessel we pilot.
Our shields are our clothing, our armor is our skin, the hull is our skeleton containing our visceral organs. Our armament are our fists, our scanner arrays and camera drones are our touch and eyes. Our mute anger is cataclysmic; we react faster and better because in every way technologically possible we are the tools we inhabit.
This doesn't make us better people but it does make us vastly different and we exist in a different realm. I need people who understand that, who won't proselytize or fight for glory and other useless things. I don't need a purpose, I need to be useful. My talents are wasted, Republic agents only send me to do things because it's monetarily and politically less expensive than a fleet of navy ships.
I need people who see the monsters within themselves and want to use it constructively through selective destruction. ------------------------------- The fox chases for her meal, but the rabbit runs for her life. |

Have you tried inquiring with Du'uma Fiisi? If they're still operational (and you don't mind their exceptionally, er, serious approach to Matari-Amarrian politics), they might suit. I haven't seen Havohej in a while, but he seems to have reached much the same conclusions as you and I.

Edited by: Aldrith Shutaq on 21/10/2010 03:17:27 I am still cautious, but you seem to possess some wisdom. Your thoughts intrigue me. I would like to invite you to Mercy's Keep, headquarters of the Knighthood of the Merciful Crown, if you have some time and are ever in the neighborhood. Note that this is not necessarily a response to your request for employment; KotMC is loyal to the Amarr Empire and given your connections with The Star Fraction and the Republic (both currently our enemies), I doubt either party would be interested in such a proposition. Yet you do seem like someone who might be interested in a bit of talk with a few of our pilots.
Here is a section of our manifesto, which is still in progress:
The Knighthood of the Merciful Crown's purpose is to harness the destructive powers of combat-trained capsuleers and channel them into ends that benefit the future of the Empire, humanity, and the souls of the pilots themselves through fellowship and the encouragement of self-imposed discipline and codes of morality. Like the ancient Amarrian knights we seek to emulate, we see ourselves as the modern warrior-class; naturally independent, powerful on the battlefield, and inexorably separate from the rest of humanity, but still with a great responsibility to all those around us. We are strong, and therefore must protect the weak. We are individual, and therefore must dedicate ourselves to the whole. We take life, and therefore must make sure to give more of it back.
There is more to our ethos than that of course, but I'll not bore you if you have already lost interest. I simply urge you to consider who you choose as your fellows carefully, and despite the detachment you seem to now feel towards non-capsuleers, please do not forget their plights. I would hate to see another pilot fall to a life of piracy, selfish 'living for the sake of living', or fight only for the welfare of a select few at the expense of the rest of the cluster's peoples.
At the very least you have the good sense to spit upon warped causes like that of the Sani Sabik. Though the man who tried to 'lure' you to that side did not exactly use much tact in his attempt. Anyway, I wish you luck on your search, and I hope some of what I have said will be taken to heart.
