Hello guys, so I am interested in high sec exploration, and been playing with ashimmu fittings for a while now, imo it is exelent in exploration due to its 3 utility slots. So about launchers now, I know that u can use combat and survey probes on expanded launcher, but if I'm gonna use sister core scaner probes only, does it make a difference wich launcher i have?

If you are only using core probes get the core launcher, preferably Sisters. The fitting requirements for CPU are much higher on the Expanded, so why bother if you aren't scanning moons or combat?

Certainly. One will be perfect for the job, the other will use most/all of your available CPU without giving any additional benefit to your setup.

Having the Expanded Probe Launcher fitted with a few Combat Probes in the cargohold will allow you to quickly check regular systems and Worm systems for Player Owned Starbase (POS).

Core launcher can only fit Core probes. And was purposely made easy on resources so that anyone can try out exploration if they'd like.
Expanded can load any kind of probes, but requires more of the ship, unless you use one specialized in scanning.
Sister variants of probes and launchers have higher strength, so they can get a lock sooner.
As for the suggestion for finding POS in WHs... they show up on dscan as well. Either turn off the Overview settings entirely and then dscan, or make an Overview tab that shows Towers and Force Fields at the very least. Then you'll know if anyone is actively there. - One Button Extractors

Seems some people missed this bit.
Just use the Core launcher, Ni'ark.

i would still go with expanded if you can fit it. not sure how prevelant they are in highsec, but i know in nul and j there are many systems spanning several hundred au and a 32au core probe simply wont cut it, combats or even deeps have the range for those larger systems. |

You shouldn't strain yourself. True, there are systems up to 200 AU in diameter, but usually it's much smaller, and you can systematically filter through larger systems with the smaller ranged core probes, too. Also, if you're gonna lose a probe in high sec, something must have went really wrong You definitely don't need the 160 mundane core probes an expanded launcher can house for that kind of stuff.
