LOL - To me this speaks more about the two games than the review itself. Maybe, just MAYBE there is a good REASON he could not even play STOL for an hour. =========================

Speaking as someone who did spend several months playing STO and have spent several years playing Eve I think I am in quite a good position to say - the review was rubbish, not just tripe, but utter cods wallop of the highest order.
My wife's father always bought Rover cars and even though each and every one of them caused him so much trouble he would defend them claiming that any faults were minor. But any faults on other makes of cars, especially if they were Japanese, were highlighted by him as proof that his choice of car was the best.
This review struck me in the same way. Every little fault and niggle with STO is blown up so that it seems to be game breaking while the faults and niggles of Eve are played down.
My biggest complaint about STO was lack of content, and I fully intend to revisit the game at some time in the future so play with new the stuff. So it can't be all bad if I am willing to take a break from playing Eve to do this.

Edited by: Kraschyn Thek''athor on 23/10/2010 00:54:22 There is one weakness for Star Trek. Ramming!
We see in the first contact with the dominion a Galaxy-Class ship rammed and destroyed and the Jema'thar ship wasn't particualar fast. So agility seems rather low ^^ Ramming often happens at climatic moments in Star Trek and is allways fatal. Flimsy ships. Eve Battleships are much larger, heavier ships and are much more numberous. The speed difference can be negated by warping on a cloak ship.
Star Trek Ships would die by bumping/ramming from hundreds of Immortal Kamikaze Pilots :D
Oh glorious days, when our Empress rams it way through the Federation Fleet at the helm of an Avatar Titan ^^

After the first few lines his writing began to bother me, so i skipped to the end and felt that was a good decision when i found "Byeee!" there.

To everybody doing the EVE vs STO ship fights e-peen contest. It was annoying when geeks started Star Wars vs Star Trek debates about 20 years back and it still hasn¦t changed.
About this article, it¦s a non-entity.
I started eve back in 2004 and can¦t even bring myself to log in anymore when I see basically the same UI and gameplay from back then. STO spacefigthin is fracking awesome fun compared to eve! Just one word: LineOfSight!
Also STO has actual "walking in station" that¦s used for something other than watching pixel a$$es wiggling about. Meaning GROUND COMBAT. Yes it¦s all a bit clunky and repetitive after a while but there¦s at least something to improve upon.
And the devs actually do something about it. They are going to introduce PLAYER GENERATED CONTENT TOOLS. Admittedly it¦s probably only going to be used for adding missions, but then again 90% of the EVE population is in empire anyway, doing guess what?
STO has some big design problems and pitfalls, no doubt about it. Most of it stemming from Cryptic having do the damn thing in about 18 months after the former software house did $h!t@ll during the 2 years they were supposed to develop it. But the arrogant superior ¦tude some here display is more than laughable and reeks of ignorance and blatant fanboyism.
EVE has more than his share of humongous problems. From the boorish 6+ year old UI to the bland gameplay that still hasn¦t evolved significantly in about the same time frame. _________________________________________________
