WHAT?! isn't fungal a bacteria? will epton salt work? i need results!
fungal is a fungus, bacterial is bacteria, 2 different living organisms that respond to different treaments.
And virus's are completely seperate as well, but thats completely off base.
Bacteria respond to antibiotics. The salt might work really dunno, if it has some antibacterial properties or even the dehydrating of it might work killing the bacteria. Best bet would to get an ointment or cream.

something like that at the VERY LEAST. but that probably wont do the trick either, its mainly for preventing infection to cuts, you already have an infection...you'll probably need to get a script for Erythromycin Cream and you can prolly get a small thing for about 10-15$ or like that guy said an Fusidic Acid topical but im fairly sure thats about 5x the cost.

I'd say go to the doctor instead of taking 12 treatments recommended by the forum until you get it right. I'm sure you'll spend less money in the long run by going to the doctor too.
Go to the doctor.

It looks like acidic erosion from sweat and fungus to me though. -

I showed the picture to one of the nurses I work with and she thinks it's fungal in nature. You may not have given the antifungal cream enough time to work.
She also suggested a high acid treatment like soaking you foot in tomato juice to kill the fungus. A few hours a day for a week should do it. Do not drink the tomato juice afterwards.

Indeed.
You can try tea. STRONG tea (Lots and lots of bags of tea. regular plain ol tea) in a foot basin and soak them for at least 30 minutes.
I bet you notice improvement after a week.

Edited by: Zedic on 27/10/2010 00:56:39 Having only looked at that pic once, for a few seconds (and having the unfortunately vividly visual imagination that filled in an approximate smell for me *hurl*) - I have to wonder why soaking those damned hooves of yours in a foot bath with lots of epsom salts, a prayer, some exorcism ritual, some candles and a blood offering followed by a pumice stone to them until you've hacked off all those nasty layers - wouldn't do the trick??
oh god.. I'm remembering that pic again... and now I can smell it. WTF
p.s.
PLZ STOP POASTING THIS SHEEEET! THINK OF THE IMAGINATIVE FOLK PLZ!?

Thanks for all your replys! im doing everything everyone is suggesting! and im grateful! its kinda disappearing. my feet didnt smell when i came home and took my sock off after working 12 hours without changing my socks. no more scales on the outer side of my foot but still kinda visible in the heel of my foot and near my toes. hopefully a couple more days it'll take? ill upload a pic as soon as my friends leave. thanks everyone!

When I had the same issue, it took about two weeks. That was applying the fucidin cream I keep banging on about, and washing my feet properly twice a day. Try to have bare feet as often as you are able, that will help. Can you take a spare pair of socks to work to change halfway through your shift? i knew i recognised your name from somewhere... i investigated and it seems we have fought together before lol
