I recently took a break and came back to find my game was corrupted so I reinstalled well now I'm at a point where I can't log in at all because when I make it to the character selection screen the loading bar gets half way and the game freezes. I've ran the repair tools and also reinstalled cleanly about three times now making sure to get rid of any cache folders from CCP. Any ideas on what the issue may be?

I decided to come back to the game today also. I tried using my original install and patching it, then running the optional patch. Every time it loads the character select screen it gets about half way and crashes. I tried a clean install and still the same deal.
I tried installing it on another OS on a different partition and still receive the same issue. I have trolled the forums and google for about an hour now and I cannot come up with any thing concrete. I cleared the cache and to no resolve. ny help is much appreciated.
To show my appreciation, any one who posts a working fix will receive a 50m.

Same problem here since I reactivated my account 3 weeks ago. I'm starting to wonder if I did not waste my money

As a work around can I recommend trying to use the free trial install from steam to install the game, then transfering the steam install to its own program folder once it is up to date. I had the same type of issue with installer and repair tool, and also a post about it as well.
If you have any friends in RL that you can copy their install file and paste it to the appropriate directory, that is how I fixed my problem.
Hope this can help you in some way for the time being.

Try this : "Thank you for contacting customer support. could you please run the game with the following attributes Go to the directory where EVE is installed and create a shortcut for the EVE process ( eve.exe ) when the shortcut has been created right click on "eve.exe - shortcut" and select properties. In the shortcut tab under Target add /nolightfx behind the target line so it'll look something similar to this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /nolightfx Once you've done this, start the EVE client normally and see if the problem continues. Best regards, Senior GM Xamother EVE Online Customer Support"
I got it from my petition, maybe it'll work for you too.
